...Malaysia was my second internation trip from home and i am proud that it was really. we travelled from karachi to kuala lumpur and the flight was great we flew through malaysian airlines and the crew was fantastic. On reaching the airport we had the choice of either taking the bus or a taxi or a train service. We opted for a taxi and asked the taxi driver to take us to a budget hotel in a busy and crowded area. The taxi driver took us to bukit bintangand we stayed in a hotel named STAR INN it was a neat hotel and we paid 60 malaysian ringits for a one night stay. In our brief stay in kuala lumpur we went to chinatown and the kuala lumpur towers and both these places were fantastic. ...The recently opened Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at Sepang is a high-tech,cutting-edge,airport in the forest.Surrounded by lush tropical vegetation,KLIA has state-of-the art facilities including a magnificent passenger terminal, satellite terminal which is reached by a sophisticated aero train, first rate duty free and catering outlets and ample car parking facilities. It is designed to handle 25 million passengers per year and can be expanded to handle 40 million passengers. At present around 30 airlines use the airport and there are also a number of tour and travel companies with offices at the KLIA. Ground handling facilities and services are generally good,my major criticism concerns the signage which is rather small. ...that are planning on coming to Malaysia using this airport. +++++++ Location +++++++ Although the airport's name is Kuala Lumpur International Airport, actually the location of this airport is not in the Kuala Lumpur Federal Territories. KLIA is located in the State Of Selangor Darul Ehsan, and situated in Sepang District. KLIA actually is about 50km from Kuala Lumpur. KLIA was build to replace the old airport that is located is Subang Jaya Satellite City that is about 10km from Kuala Lumpur City. The reason why this airport is build so far from the city centre is because the government vision to make Kuala Lumpur City more organized due to expansion of Kuala Lumpur City and all surrounding satellite cities in Klang Valley.
