When you get onboard you are given a reserved seat number. This is where some of the only dificulties start. You have ... ...On the Condor Express there seems to be a problem where the zones and the seat numbers dont match up. After you eventually find your seat you can be left sitting next to people that you dont know. It dosent really matter as you can get up and walk around the boat. The ferries have duty free shops, bar and cafe on board. One of the best things about the service is that you can but a botomless cup of tea for £1.80, making a big saving by the end of ...

...of ours had used the Condor Express operated by Condor Ferries which operates from Weymouth and Poole and they said it was fairly quick, so after obtaining a reasonable quote (£370 for the car + 5) so we decided to book.

Finally the day came for our trip, all excited we arrived at the port with plenty of time, as they ask you to be there an hour before the departure. ... ...Jersey we arrived at the Condor Express at 7:30pm one hour before our departure time with a little apprehension. We saw a sign flashing saying next sailing to Weymouth was an 11.30pm not 8.30pm. We went in to the terminal and it was explained there was engine trouble and the catamaran was running behind schedule and on half speed and they were hoping to board us from 11.30 and to come back later. At the moment, there is a sale on - only ... ...the ferry. The prices on Condor are very reasonable, yet still make massive profit margins for the company as they do not have to pay any duty, and thus help to reduce the fares - though these can still be a bit steep, especially in the summer, especially compared to air travel.
The problem with the fast catamaran is that, although it is a very advanced ship, it can't handle wind speeds of much more than 40 miles an hour (which happens regularly ...

Advantages: fast, efficient, reliable, well priced, comfortable, Duty Free, shorter driving times Disadvantages: busy summer services
Condor Fast ferry services are second to none in terms of their reliability, efficiency and speed. Tearing across the channel to St Malo in Brittany and also to Guernsey and Jersey these wavepiercing catermerans offered us an enjoyable crossing from ports at Weymouth and Poole that enables us to feel as though they were our local ferry operator. Offering a shortened drive to and from the port on both sides of the channel from our departure point ... ...only be matched by their reservation staff who offered us information on both their special offers as well as any traffic problems in the area of each port of use. We've never had such a worry free, enjoyable and reasonably priced break as the one we had with Condor Ferries. ...

I bought this album as a point of principle. The point and the princliple being the same - I've bought every other Roxy Music album to date, every Bryan Ferry album, plus some from fellow Roxy members Phil Manzanera & Andy MacKay.
