It's 1942 a young boy is playing peacefully I his bedroom. However, somehow it's a jigsaw of a naked woman he has and his mother is annoyed at discovering this and finding heaps of pornography hidden all over his bedroom. She demands that he goes and gets her the matches so she can burn it all but the weird child being a true blue porn fan instead gets an axe and brutally, albeit very unrealistically, kills his mother. He is then found in the blood covered room after cutting her into several pieces. Many years later and we have a random scene of a woman skating about on some University grounds before she crashes into two men carrying a mirror across a road. That scene seems pointless and is forgotten. But then another young woman is sitting on the lawn reading her book when she is disturbed by a man with a chainsaw cutting ...

Review of Pieces (DVD)

Pulling off the biggest scam of your career with confidence

Advantages: A cool and stylish con movie with plenty of twists
Disadvantages: Not enough character depth

Confidence was the exact feeling i had when i saw this and parted with three of my english pounds to the lady behind the counter at Blockbuster a few years ago. Although the film had fallen under my movie radar, i saw the cast and thought that this film at least would be good enough to keep me entertained for the evening, it turned out to be more than that. A rental turned into a purchase, a purchase turned into me lending it out which led to other purchasing and talking about it. Any film that can pull off some good twists is worth watching in my opinion, this is definately one of them. PLOT - At the start of the film we meet Jake, our lead character who is dead, good start right! Review of Confidence (DVD)

Good starter set to expand upon

Advantages: Compatible with BRIO and other brands, good variety of pieces.
Disadvantages: Inmproved by the addition of a second train.

Not sure whether Halsall is a brand name but we bought this set on the web from JKToys.co.uk for under £40 which seemed a lot cheaper than elsewhere - I have since seen it advertised on other sites for up to £50. The set contains a good variety of track pieces including a couple of junctions and some inclines to from a bridge - this gives the flexibility to build several layouts including the one shown in the picture. Along with the track there is one train consisting of an engine and three wagons, several road vehicles including an ambulance, buildings and trees. Our youngster had great fun building the layout and can keep himself occupied for long periods (by 3 year old standards) with this set although we have added several extra pieces of track to enable even more exciting layouts to be built - these extras have come from ...
