Advantages: New, modern hotel, excellent service, very clean, few children, good facilities, very nice area
Disadvantages: Single beds pushed together to make a double bed

Confortel is a hotel chain with a number of hotels situated throughout Europe (www.confortelhoteles.com). Confortel Fuengirola ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Confortel Fuengirola is a 4 star hotel situated on the sea front in Fuengirola. From the outside it appears a very modern and well kept building having only been opened in January 2005. As soon as our travel operator's coach pulled up outside the hotel to drop us off a very friendly porter was there with a trolley to take our case inside - this stood out as being good service as the other hotels that our coach had dropped off at (including other 4 star hotels) didn't receive any such greeting. On entry into the reception area it is clear that this is a modern hotel. Decor is minimalistic and the colour scheme is natural, with lots of marble, wood and neutral colours ...

Review of Confortel Fuengirola, Fuengirola

More to Valencia than oranges

Advantages: History, good food and attractions
Disadvantages: Maybe not geared up for tourism

From out of fluffy white clouds, we descend to a wonderful view of an azure blue Mediterranean sea, with 8 cargo and container ships dotted near the shore... we make the turn for a straight path into the airport. Over a massive port we fly, where tiny little containers look like dolly lollies, tidily stacked ready for export; a very large ship is berthed at the portside with four gigantic cranes busy loading; now there's a school, set amid a neighbourhood of orange/earthy coloured homes, a huge graveyard and thousands and thousands of industrial buildings....with what looks like market gardens and orange groves spattered all around. It's a tidy and interesting approach to Valencia Airport and the start of a short break to Spain's third largest city, one steeped in history and nowadays mainly a commerce centre for a vast range ...

Review of Valencia (Spain)

Valencia - perfect for all!

Advantages: fun for all ages, great shopping, weather, food, nightlife.
Disadvantages: In the summer months, make sure your hotel has a pool or you might find the heat a little too much

sun the climbing frame is so hot that the slides etc. can burn the little one's legs. -Beaches- Valencia has a city beach with a strip of restaurants and bars. However, in the summer it's usually packed. Walk a little further down though, past 'Pans' and the crowd starts to thin out. You will also then be walking through a charming beachside market where you can pick up local crafts, sunglasses, clothing, hammocks, jewellery and plenty of other things. -Shopping- The main shopping area is the centre, Colón. However, either side of the City of Arts and Sciences there are great malls, El Saler one side and Aqua the other (next to a giant Corte Inglés department store). Next to the bus station there is also Nuevo Centro so you are guaranteed to have plenty of places to shop. The selection of shops is fantastic, Zara, Quiksilver ...
