... To be truthful we were overwhelmed – we were embarrassed - we wanted them to stop – we were being killed by kindness and hospitality!
It took us a while to get over the shock of the amazing customer service given by the Thai staff of the Conrad, but as soon as we did – ... Read review

Advantages: The amazing and phenomenal luxury and service Disadvantages: Not living there
...the Thai staff of the Conrad, but as soon as we did – we got onto checking out the room. The room was a decent size but there were so many delights within its hard to know where to start! Following the theme of the hotel it was dark wood, very contemporary and relaxed. The bed was huge – plain cream with a simple silk chocolate brown and red runner. Sitting perched on the pillow was a chocolate brown elephant – for us to take home! ... ...views all over Bangkok. There was a large work desk with all the hotel paraphernalia to be read. There was a huge big telly, with surround sound – even in the bathroom! The usual minibar/fridge (which were still at extortionate prices), a large closet area and drawers including 2 robes and checked blue bedroom slippers (these were excellent – lm still wearing mine at home!), and 2 brollies. The piece de resistance has got to be thee bathroom ...

...of miles from home, in a country l may never have the pleasure of visiting again – get over the rain and enjoy yourself girl! So l did!
We flew down from Bangkok to Phuket with Thai Airways – this flight was booked as part of our trip so l don’t know how much flight would actually cost. Thai Airways were ok. Nothing special. On the flight down (which took around 1.5hrs) we were served a box with a chicken roll thing and a glass of fruit juice. Not even a cup of tea was offered! On the way back to Bangkok for the return leg of our journey l did get a cuppa!
Our hotel provided a limo service to pick us up (this cost around £10) which was good and dropped us to the reception door. The trip from the airport to the resort was around 1 hour. Our hotel was nice – not on the same level as the Conrad in Bangkok...

...here – Paul in a past life had stayed here with an ex girlfriend and l am a bit funny about that sort of thing!! So l emailed Donna of our new requests and again she came up with the goods, a second itinerary was provided for us, with all our requests.
Saturday past 17th Jan – Paul and l did some surfing – to see if we could trawl out of the web details on our hotels. We had a successful trawl and the hotels looked good, but the Hilton Bangkok was no longer part of the group and there was only the Conrad available in Bangkok. We did find the Phuket Arcadia also which had recently become part of the Hilton group – both 5* hotels and looked absolutely fantastic – although Paul was not impressed that the Arcadia had a karaoke bar – l on the other hand did a little dance for joy – l love singing...

...At the end of May/ beginning of June 2004 we headed off to Thailand for a 2 centre holiday. It was a special treat – my 30th birthday to be precise! Ive always wanted to travel to Asia – the mysticism, and oriental delights have always intrigued me. I settled on Thailand – why – l love the food! Plus there is the choice of both city lights and the beach bumming about too – what more could a girl ask for!
We spent in total – 5 nights in Bangkok and then flew down to the islands and had a further 7 nights in Phuket. To combine both parts of our trip into one review would have me typing out reams and reams of pages so lm going to split them up.

As a fairly regular visitor to Bangkok, I always book flights and then sort out my own accommodation rather than get a package deal. Accommodation is cheap and plentiful there, we're talking £10 - £15 per night for what might equate to a three star... more
