Advantages: exc location, 5 mins from the beach, top quailty hotel! Disadvantages: quite a long coach ride from the airport (Palma)
For my first ever time abroad I was very worried about what kind of accomodation we were going to get (having seen many nightmare stories on TV!).

This wasnt just an arrival thing - the standards were this high the whole time we were there. There was a good choice of spanish foods along with the traditional british foods (of which tasted better than back home!).

For my first ever time abroad I was very worried about what kind of accomodation we were going to get (having seen many nightmare stories on TV!). However, as soon as we arrived outside the hotel, my worries were over! Its quailty and modern design from the outside gives a great first impression, on going inside, I became even more impressed. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Due to our arrival time we were able to leave our luggage and go into the huge restaurant to a self-serve buffet. The variety of food was great and was superbly cooked. This wasnt just an arrival thing - the standards were this high the whole time we were there. There was a good choice of spanish foods along with the traditional british foods (of which tasted better than back home!).
Our room wasnt huge, but it was definatly big enough for the two of us! It was very clean, well air-conditioned, with a small tv with some satellite channels, a safe (of which there was a very small charge and was optional), en-suite bathroom and a small balcony overlooking the front of the hotel.
Entertainment and bar: What can I say? The entertainment was fantastic! During the day there were holiday reps to keep the kids entertained (we didnt have ours with us but the would have loved it!), plenty of sunbeds to relax by the pool (although i'd recommed sticking your towels on a couple before breakfast as they do get full quickly), bar staff are on hand throughout the day and are very friendly, they dont badger you for tips, they seem to genuinly enjoy what they are doing and will chat for ages if you let them!
During the evening, family entertainment that is different every night keeps EVERYONE amused, later on leading to more adult entertainment that is amusing, enjoyable and something you will always remember (dont worry about the kids - its all done very well and it is clear that they are aware of kids being there).
Excursions - there are many excursions available from the local area, you can find out more about these from reception or from the holiday reps, I'd recommend the trip to see the 'pirates' show, you get treated like a star and its an absolutly fantastic piece of quailty entertainment. It may seem a bit pricey - but its well worth it! Also, for a more kids orientated trip, why not got to the sea-life park and watch the dolphins? We did - and as two grown adults we had a great time!
The beaches nearby are very clean and beautiful, there is the option of local watersports on offer too and they were reasonable in price.
The only thing to watch out for is the street sellers, they do keep on at you and I would recommend that you politely say no and walk away, they get the message eventually - spend your money elsewhere, such as the local shops, markets etc - at least you will know what you are getting! Saying that, there are the ladies who do the hair plaiting, they will try to charge you a fortune, but if you want it done, keep haggling, I kept going to different ones for a couple of days getting them to beat each others prices! It worked and I eventually got it done for about £25. It was worth it, and they are very good at what they do, just make sure you haggle with them!
Overall, I dont really think there is anything bad I can say about the Contintental Park Hotel, It was located in a beautiful resort, entertainment was fantastic, food was top-notch, and the staff were very honest and helpful!!! It is very family orientated so if you're looking for somewhere to take the kids then I'd definatly recommend it, on the other hand, we went for our honeymoon, and had a fantastic time, we weren't the only couple there either!
If you want something that is lively but relaxed at the same time, then go for this one! You cant go wrong!
