Advantages Advantages Lots of things to keep you occupied

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None really.

Having lived in north Wales for 10 years now, I thought it was about time I started writing opinions about the area. As its now Summer I thought now was as good a time as any! So, here I am. Why did I decide to write about Conwy? Do I live there? Well, nope, I live in Rhos on Sea which is about 5 miles away from Conwy. The reason why I've decided to write an opinion about Conwy is because its been cropping up in my life quite a bit recently. As many of you know, I'm into the paranormal. Conwy, being an old walled town has its fair share of ghost stories. Its even said to be cursed. More on ... more

I can’t wait for the clocks to go forward. I’m not a great fan of the winter, I get bored with the long dark nights and cold, wet gloomy days and I long for the first signs of spring. The build-up to Christmas seems to be taken up with endless weekend shopping trips most but not all of which I manage to avoid if there’s a home match or if I’m lucky enough, a suitable away fixture. It’s surprising where my wife and daughter have Christmas shopped over the last few years - exotic places such as Rochdale, Bury, Macclesfield and Walsall. I’ve promised them that ... more

OK, so you all know I spent a week in North Wales last month so you have to put up with all these travel opinions! I’m off to Devon soon so I shall come back with even more! Anyway, lets get to the point – while we were in Anglesey we went over to the Welsh mainland on a few occasions and explored the North Wales coast. One of the places we visited was Conwy. I was surprised as I had always spelt it Conway, but there you are! Conwy is west of Llandudno, sheltered by the Great Ormes Head and looking out towards Anglesey and Puffin Island. The most striking thing about Conwy is the ... more

Last week end I went to meet some old school friends who were on holiday in Wales we decided to meet up and spend the day in Conwy. To get to Conwy I travelled down the A55 from Chester which took around an hour. On approaching Conwy I could not fail to be impressed by the magnificent castle, as it just dominates the town by its magnificent presence. It was built as one of the key fortresses between 1283 and 1289 by Edward 1 and was positioned on the Conwy estuary to originally to defend against attacks from both the sea and land. Almost all of the huge 8 towers and connecting walls are intact ... more

Advantages Advantages Get to spend time together

Disadvantages Disadvantages It's raining, it's pouring, Lots of money needed.

Right now I feel very depressed. I've just got back from a weekend in North Wales, Conwy. There are so many things that went wrong and for most of the time we really didn't enjoy ourselves. We stayed in a cottage overlooking Snowdon which is a really beautiful place and really quaint, but the problem is that if you haven't got a car there's really not that much you can do. Riding on the buses takes up time as well as money. The prices are extortionate. If you haven't got a car it really isn't worth it. A ride from Llanfairfechan to Llandudno which would take about 30 minutes will set you back ... more
