A long drive way takes you up to Coombe Abbey and on eather side as you drive up the very impressive driveway you have lovely greenery and trees.
There is a car park ... ...views, weather and all that Coombe Abbey as to offer. It was a great family atmosphere.
Drive a little further up and you will come to the hotel car park (again located on the right).
There is then a little walk over the moat bridge to the magnificent hotel ( or get your other half to drive over the moat bridge and drop you off at the door!).

There is a car park on the right hand side (don't park here if you are resident at the hotel keep going a little further!) where people can park if they have just come to stroll round the grounds or pop into the Visitors Centre, Discovery Centre, History Room or the Heron Table Restaurant .I personally haven't visited any of these yet, but will update this review if I ever do!
I noticed on my last visit because the sun was shinning that they have now installed BBQs in the grounds and the last time I was there quite a few groups of friends/families were taking advantage of this..... enjoying the views, weather and all that Coombe Abbey as to offer. It was a great family atmosphere.

The Hotel Originally Coombe Abbey was a 12th Century Cistercian Abbey (at a party I went to a monk did infact appear to tell us about the history of the Coombe.... which is supposed to be haunted!) The only feeling I got though was one of calmness and I slept well at night!
As you walk into the receiption area you know you have arrived somewhere very special indeed (although dimly lite, but that adds to the atmosphere of the place)
Every room is unique - one even has a hidden bathroom! I know this because my friend went to complain about her room having no bathroom facility only to be told it was behind the bookcase! Very (Scooby Doo!).
On both occasions I have stayed here I have found the rooms to be of a very high standard and very unique. You really feel as if you have treated yourself when you stay here, it's a really lovely experience.
-The Food_ If like me, you enjoy good food, then dining at Coombe Abbey is a must!
All food the food is freshly prepared (as you would expect!) and is served and presented to perfection.
I can recommend the Halibut Fillet...yummy.
There is also an extensive wine list.
One could argue that the food is on the expensice side, but then this is an exclusive hotel, so don't book if you want a cheap and cheerful culinary experience.
I must point out that no denim or trainers are allowed in the resturant (but you would want to dress up at this hotel anyway).
_Car Parking at the Hotel_ Free car parking to the hotel residence and plenty of spaces.
_The Country Park_ 500 acres of beautiful gardens, woodland, lakeside walks, and bird watching (if your into tweeting!).
Really lovely place to stroll and unwind and you can take your dog, just keep it on a lead, so it doesn't chase the birds!).
Admission is free, but you do have to pay for the car park: £3.20 per day £1.60 for Passport to Leisure and learning holders, for cars.
Opening Hours: The park is open all year round seven days a week from dawn until dusk.
_My Opinion on the Hotel_ Lovely, lovely place to stay. Worth every penny a truely wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and helpful and on the occasions I have stayed my rooms have been marvellous!
The food is to die for, a real treat.
Highly recommended.
_My Opinion on the Country Park_ Great day especially if the sun is shining! Lovely walks set in lovely grounds.
As I said before you can even have a BBQ in the grounds know if you want to make a family day of it.
Worth a visit.

...plesure of staying at the Coombe Abbey hotel during a business trip 3 years ago, I was tasked with manning a stand for my employer at a conference at the University of Warwick just outside Coventry and had to stay over night for a few days. I discovered that my manager had booked this hotel the week before the trip and was a little surprised that he hadnt booked anything closer or more convenient, at the time I was very annoyed as it dawned on me ... ...around during the 3 days I was away for (I dont drive - yet) The second my taxi pulled up to the gates outside the estate and made its way down the long drive to the hotel I instantly cheered up and realised why my boss had made the booking, this place was stunning and not unlike a small stately home. I later learned from the staff that the hotel was originally a monastry which is reflected in the decor throughout the building and in the staff uniform. ...
