Not like the rest.......
Advantages: Room size. Location. Disadvantages: Staff.
...Copenhagen. We stayed in the Ibis Triton. Having used Ibis for all our non-hostel accomodation on the trip, and being impressed by each one, we looked forward to a relaxing few days before flying home.
Unfortunately, the only thing the hotel had in common with the rest of the chain was the name.
Located to the East of the train station, only 2 mins walk to Helgolandsgade, it was in a convenient location. It was relatively cheap, at £60 per night ... ...had a look on the Ibis website to check this was the one i stayed at (there were 3 in town if i remember rightly). They no longer own it. It is now listed as just the Triton elsewhere. I dont want to sound like a complainer, but this hotel could tarnish someones opinion of the chain as a whole, and they did the right thing if they have passed it on, or rebranded it. Would not recommend or go back to it.
They even tried to charge us for Breakfast ...

The Strand in Copenhagen is located ... ...of bedroom viewing in the Strand Hotel. A white built in single wardrobe with a combination of shelving and hanger space was clean and well stocked with good quality hangers.
The floor was covered in a stylish dark laminate flooring that felt slightly warm on your bare feet. I had been quite worried about feeling the cold and had been warned to take lots of clothing. However, this hotel was warm and cosy in all areas – obviously reflecting the efficient ...

Simply Superb
Advantages: Friendly; nice rooms; breakfast; location Disadvantages: Location (if you like being in the city centre)
...the strangest name for a hotel I've come across; the Kong Arthur, we read before arriving, was a knights-of-the-round-table-themed hotel ('Kong' being Danish for 'King' which naturally got me wondering if King Kong was released in Denamrk as Kong Kong). I have to say right from the start that this wasn't the reason for our staying - I hadn't planned to don any armour and have Mel play the maiden in distress, and from the photos on the website the ... ...minutes further on.
The hotel itself is tucked down an alley, and looks quite small at first glance. Walking into the airy reception area it feels lovely and modern, and here we find the only real King Arthur motifs - a suit of armour against a wall; some shields along the same wall; and the key fob for our room being a huge metal disc of the round table.
Right from the off we were made to feel at ease. It was March, so not really into tourist ...

Perfect for a sightseeing trip to Copenhagen
Advantages: good location, very nice rooms, friendly staff Disadvantages: nothing
...we found this one, the Savoy Copenhagen. We paid for one night 105 Euro (88 GBP), not much compared to other hotels in Copenhagen.
The Savoy Copenhagen is located in the Vesterbrogade 34 in 1620 Copenhagen. The hotel´s website can be found here: http://www.savoyhotel.dk/ . It has three stars.
The hotel is just a short walk away from the railway station. So when we came from the airport, we just had to fetch a train to the railway station (took ... ...300 meters to reach the Savoy hotel. Also all sights of Copenhagen can be reached by feet from the hotel, but the way to the Little Mermaid can become a qiet far walk through the city (on the way you pass all the sights like the Tivoli, Nyhavn etc.). If you want to get to the Mermaid faster, you can fetch a bus right from the hotel to her.
Around the hotel are a lot of shopping opportunities, there is everything - supermarkets, post office and several ...

Phoenix hotel, Copenhagen
Advantages: 4 star luxary, excellent breakfest, cheap deals if booked early Disadvantages: smallish sized room
So here we are traveling the globe and the Scandinavian is without doubt the most expensive for hostels and we were really struggling to find a hostel in central Copenhagen until my girlfriend stumbled upon this excellent hotel which worked out to be only a couple of pounds more expensive then the hostels in the area - but this one has of course a four star luxury status!
The hotel is within easy walking distance of the city centre and of course ... ...airport. We made the short journey and located the street that the hostel was on easily. The hotel stood out on this quiet street as we arrived at 9pm and there was no one walking the streets and only one building as lit up - this was the phoenix.
The hotel entrance is grand with a water feature in the middle of reception and its have loads of old paintings hanging on the walls. we were greeted on reception by an extremely helpful guy who spoke ...
