I was so excited about going to Copenhagen that I never really gave much thought to the hotel because that's my dad's department! The Copenhagen Marriott (has 5 stars) ******************************************** The hotel has 11 floors and over 300 rooms. (I think we were on the 3rd floor - not that it would matter as there are lifts!) It also has a number of suites. (Unfortunately we just stayed in a standard room with 2 double beds. But it was nice all the same!) It is situated on the riverfront (and we were lucky enough to have a water facing view!) The Lobby is large and feels very welcoming upon arrival. They have Bellmen to carry your luggage to your room, which is extremely helpful when you are tired after your flight. The staff are very helpful and speak perfect English. They are willing to give directions to the local attractions and there is information leaflets there for guests to take away. Tivoli Gardens, Christiansborg Palace, the little Mermaid (see my review - The Little Mermaid for more information), and Europe's longest pedestrian street, "Strøget", are within walking distance from the hotel (some walks are further than others!) We only ate in the restaurant for breakfast, which was lovely. It was an all you can buffet (but it was quite expensive!) We did not eat there in evenings simply because we were too tired after all our sightseeing through the day. It looked quite busy every night so I presume it was nice! There is a gift shop in the lobby. It has a small range of gifts. I bought a wonderful Hans Christian Andersen book that contains all of his fairytales (in English) and it came with a box of delicious hand made chocolates.
Some facilities that the hotel has: Cash machine/ATM Concierge desk Evening turndown service Foreign exchange - we didn't use this service because we bought all our currency before we went. Laundry on-site Room service - we used this service and were very pleased with it. There was a good selection on the menu and the food was good! The waiter brought it into the room on a trolley that folded out as a table - very useful!! Daily housekeeping service - this service was also very good.

actually leaving the airport, it only took us about 20 minutes from leaving the plane to getting outside.
Transport to the city:
There are several way that you can get from Copenhagen airport into the city taxi, bus or train. Teh bus and train services are very efficient and run every two or three minutes right into the heart of the city for a minimal cost of under £5. As the Centre of Copenhagen is less than 15 minutes drive away from the airport we opted for the simpler and lazy excuse of using a taxi! When we got outside there were literally hundreds of taxis waiting and our driver spoke very good English. The taxi fare to our hotel (MarriottCopenhagen) took approximately 15 minutes and cost about £15 so not bad value for money.
Departure:
After our holiday we again returned to terminal three of the airport by taxi which ...
