I am well travelled both with work and for fun, I love my cats and horses spending lots of time riding. Am married to a kiwi which makes it fun when we watch England vs the All Blacks at rugby!

Birmingham - another top business destination, but well worth a trip if you like shopping too so not just for the business traveller.
Location: This is about 10 minutes walk from New St Station - you can get a taxi but it goes around a one way system and takes about 20 minutes so probably best to walk. It has a busy road on one side of it - but the windows are double glazed so noise not too much of a problem.
Reception: Efficient and usually friendly staff will greet you. You can pick up a free apple or boiled sweet too which is nice.
Rooms: Neat and tidy - free internet connection which is always good, comfy bed and a good sized TV. You cant control the room temperature though which is a shame.
Bathroom: Clean and neat, with a bath and shower and sink / toilet so everything that you could possibly need but somehow not luxurious - more functional than for pleasure.
Facilities: The hotel has a bar and restaurant and you are also able to order a "take out" from the hotel eating places. You call down and then they call you when it is ready - means that you dont get charged for someone to bring it to your room - a really good idea. Of course they will do normal room service too! There is a gym with CV equipment and a sauna which is nice and lots of weights so worth bringing your workout gear.
Meals: Food is of good quality and reasonably priced. Not exactly top restaurant quality but certainly better than the local kebab shop!
Breakfast: A good buffet - hot and cold foods with fresh tea and coffee. My only comment here is that staff make you wait ages to be seated and it is very dark in the breakfast room!
Check out: Efficient and friendly staff sort you out in record time!
Overall: A good place to stay if shopping in the Bull Ring or visiting for business.
