As you walk in you are transferred to another place. The glass atrium shows off one of the spectacular features of the hotel, it's view. The River Tyne allows for a tranquel background for a relaxing weekend break.
When ever we go to Newcastle this is one of our favourite places to stay. The setting provides a rich and romatic setting that lets love blossom and the world around you to melt away.
Location:
From North: approach Newcastle on A1(M), taking slip road A695 City Centre. At roundabout take 2nd exit and follow City Centre signs; at next roundabout take B1600 Quayside exit, hotel is on the right.
From South: approach Newcastle on A1(M), pass Washington Services and follow A1 Gateshead signs. Take slip road A184 City Centre; A184 becomes A189. At end of Redheugh Bridge take 1st left and follow B1600 Quayside signs, hotel is on the right.
Intercity Railway Station: 5 mins by car Taxi cost: 3.00 GBP Bus fare: 0.35 GBP
Newcastle Int’l Airport: 15 mins by car Taxi cost: 15.00 GBP
Rooms:
We have stayed in two types of rooms, Junior Suite and Superior Rooms-Quayside.
Junior Suites: These rooms overlook the Quay. They are very large with a king size bed and a complete sitting area. We also had the conniisseur service which included bathrobes, chocolates and mineral water. The bathroom was extremely large and relaxing. Romance definately can happen in this room.
Superior Room: This room also overlooks the Quay and the bridges. A King size bed and mini bar are nice touches in this room. The room is not nearly as large and the suites but large enough for 2 people to be comfortable.
All the rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean.
Resturants and Bars:
In the hotel there is Harry's Informal Bar, Harry's Resturant and Le Rivage.
We have only ever eatten at Harry's Resturant for Breakfast which is amazing! The choice of food ranges from continental to cook to order fry ups!
The hotel is located on the Quay side so nights out are within easy walking distance.
Other attractions are: Theatre Royal 0.5 Miles Metroland, Gateshead 3 Miles SW Metrocentre, Gateshead 3 Miles SW Newcastle Football Club 1 mile Newcastle Falcon's Rugby Club - Home of Jonny Wilkinson 10
This is definately a place to take a break!

Seems pretty good value for a good hotel. I don't really have a reason to visit Newcastle though, maybe I find one!
