and MST tours were our hosts, the local reps were fantastic and as they are all Egyptian they are very respected by and have a good relationship with the hoteliers. I can totally recommend them as they provide a full rep service in resort, which you don't get most of the time if you book independently.
So I knew very little of Sharm and was a bit apprehensive as the closest place I had been was Tunisia and I hated it. But I was so surprised I really did love the place and the highlight for me was the snorkelling, I was totally blown away by it. As well as snorkelling from the hotel's beach (we stayed at the Sultan Gardens) we went on a boat trip to Tiran Island and here we snorkelled in the morning and afternoon and for lunch we had BBQ'd fish that had just been caught for us. On the way back we had the company of a pod of wild dolphins ...

never done it, do it. Ocean College Dive Center or Camel Divers are well known diving schools and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Book diving courses in advance from home if you can, it'll save you money.
- Buy your own snorkelling equipment, it's in the end cheaper than renting it.
- Don't attempt to take corals or parts of corals with you - it's strictly forbidden and - in my opinion - not respectful.
- Do not walk on corals, they can be poisonous and sting, and it destroys the reefs.
All together the SharmelSheikh experience was a wonderful one, we had a most memorable week with loads of fun and activities. The Egyptians are very friendly and extremely welcoming. We'll return for sure. ...

Ok, SharmElSheikh isnt Cairo, in fact it's no where near Cairo (you wouldn't believe how big Egypt is). But I wasnt disappointed and just couldn't wait to arrive in the country.
SharmElSheikh is a newly developed tourist resort, in the Sinai peninsula and on the coast of the Red Sea (once believed to have been parted by Moses to free the jews). SharmElSheikh is surrounded by mystery and religion. The infamous Mount Sinai is the place where God spoke to Moses and delivered the 10 commandments.
The area is amazing and I felt priveleged to be there, to be in a place home to such famous bible stories.
