Advantages: Cheap, clean, friendly service Disadvantages: Not very upmarket, depends what you're looking for!
Hotel Pepita is a budget hotel found on the Mexican island of Cozumel. It was recommended as one of the better budget options in the Lonely Planet guide, so when I arrived I wandered along and enquired about a room (I wasn't very organised but I was early)! I was lucky and there was to be a room later on - I left my bag in their luggage store and returned later after a couple of dives. At busy times it's probably better to book in advance - I don't think they have more than a dozen rooms, which is part of the charm of the place.
From the outside the hotel is pretty - it's directly on the street, but looks very green and inviting due to lots of flowers and some nice paintwork. The main door opens directly to a small (and fairly basic) reception area, which then leads to the internal courtyard.

Cyprus is an island in the southern mediterean, just off the Egyptian coast, being divided into touristy Greek Cyprus and Turkish Cyprus (which is mostly a military base). I went to Cyprus on a cycling holiday and it was an absolute nightmare to get the bikes, we waited 45 minutes after everyone else had left the new (but very barren and not very comfortable) arrival lounge. The bikes eventually appeared to fell off the plane, as we found later in the holiday that they arrived with various damage. Larnaca is the location of the main airport in Cyprus, located close to the party town of Ayia Napa but 90 minute slow bus ride away from the Coral Beach Hotel and Resort, Paphos.
The country appears to be very dusty, sparse in population except for the large hotelresorts and the ubiquitous half built villa's that seem to be found ...
Advantages: Close to beach, peaceful , no children, close to bars Disadvantages: Shingle beach by hotel.
We stayed at the Ascos Coral beach Hotel ,Cyprus, in June 2009. The hotel, during the summer months is for adults only,which if your are on a relaxing holiday makes a big difference. Once you enter the hotel you can notice straight away that there are no children running around, its very peaceful. The hotel is around half an hour drive from the airport at Paphos. It is located on the coast and has a pathway down to a shingle beach which to be honest we did not use as it was a bit awkward to walk along. The shops, not many mind, and the bars are about a five minutes walk. If you want to go to the coral bay beach it would take you around 15 minutes to walk there at the most, and to drive there it would take around 1 minute. The beach does have the usual amenities like being pulled by a speed boat and pedalos.
