Corfu Quick Guide

Advantages: Family friendly, lovely beaches and nightlife
Disadvantages: Traffic, and the corfiots are lazy

...not sorry about it. But Corfu as an island is so beautiful, you might want to forgive them... May:most thngs are just starting to get ready, not many tourists around yet, weather sunny and cool. June: Sunnier, people are all happy, the beaches are crowded, and the waters cool. July:Hot and sticky, crowded in town, and the Music Festival is on, an amazing experience for anyone interested in clasical and jazz music. August:Italians and Athenians ...
...quietr down a bit, weather a bit cooler. Places to visit are: The Old fortress isamazing, don`t bother with the new Fortress. Faliraki:There are two cafeterias, by the water, lovely at night. Liston:You must have a frape like the greeks!!! Paleokastritsa beach:Personally my favourite, although the waters are always freezing! Glydafa:Sandy beach with lovely waters! If you need anything else, please ask! ...

Kavos Review 2008

Advantages: Everyone is one big happy party family.
Disadvantages: The smell from the rotten sewers.

I visited Kavos, Corfu on August 25th 2008, and stayed in the Ekati Apartments for one week. Kavos is a very small village and everything is based on one road also known as "one strip". Along the strip lie tons of bars and restaurants and a selection of clubs which ALL have PR's standing outside trying to grab you in. Every bar will have different drinks offers and because of the competition you can get beverages quite cheap! Food is reasonably ...
...around. It only takes about 15 minutes to walk from end of one of the strip to the other. The Ekati apartments are fairly reasonable, they have air-con (payable locally), a jacuzzi, a pool, and a 24 hour pool bar where food is served throughout the day. The bathroom is TINY, the floor gets soaked because of the size of the TEENY walk-in shower, and the drains STINK (as they do EVERYWHERE in Kavos) but you learn to live with it. I visited a small ...

Review of Kavos, Corfu

Brilliant Place, Brilliant People, some annoying points.

Advantages: Loads to do, great weather, lovely people, cheap
Disadvantages: hard to get around, constantly bothered by shop/bar owners.

...about on the roads in Sidari, every car has a dent and you just walk around witnessing accidents by the hour. I'm sure they have no idea how to drive over there. The roads are most definitely a death trap. If you do opt to go out by coach to other resorts (probably the safest way to get around) then it will take a long time to get anywhere due to the nature of the roads making getting around very slow. I think we had done most things in the week ...
...than a week before either going home or moving on. We paid £250 to go and I believe we got an absolute bargain. There is loads to do, friendly people and we came back feeling refreshed and really good sporting a great tan :). Overall I would recommend Sidari to those looking for a couples get away or family destination. Those looking for a remote destination or a lads or gals holiday should look elsewhere. ...

Kalami- Corfu

Advantages: Amazing, relazing, beautiful.
Disadvantages: Some parts are very chavvy and "english"

...this beautiful little town called Kalami, and when my mum found there was an apartement where Gerald Durrell had stayed when he was writing his book, she booked it straight away. And so off we went. We flew from Manchester airport with MyTravel, the flight took around 3 hours and so we had a film on and got a meal on the flight so the time went very quickly. Upon arriving in Corfu, the heat hit us as soon as we stepped off the plane, it was the first ...
...cares.....! Back in Kalami, its the prefect relaxation spot, there are pools which you are welcome to use, and also the sea is literally a 2-5 minute walk from every apartment in Kalami. The beach isn't sand, but a pebbled beach, so you will need something like jelly shoes for in the sea!! One thing I will say is there is pretty much no nightlife, no clubs in sight, you will have to go to Sidari and the likes for that, but that means the place is ...

The Little Prince & San Stefanos

Advantages: Great weather, friendly people, good food and very relaxing!
Disadvantages: not a lot going on during the evening for the younger crowd.

Having been to Corfu now 7 times, 3 of which have been in San Stefanos, this is without question one of my most favourite places on earth! The long sweeping bay curls round and is surrounded by hills giving the resort a kind of 'secluded - tucked away' feel. Still relatively untouched by commercialsim (unlike it's neighbour Sidari) San Stefanos has a warm friendly - family atmosphere. Perfect for couples old and young or those who just want to get ...
...in the resort seems to have it's own micro climate as the rest of the island can be covered in cloud and rain however the north west corner can miss a lot of this...though don't be fooled...when it does decide to rain it really goes for it! There are a number of good bars and restaurants in the resort, of which i am going to have to recommend 'The Little Prince Appartments' where i stayed last. Spacious, high standards and extremely clean the owners ...
