Marbella Corfu Hotel Advantages: Can get a good price on good quality Disadvantages: probably not a five star hotel I would suggest that if you need a quick dash to somewhere hot then you could do far worse than Marbella Hotel Corfu. Marbella proudly displays five stars at the end of the drive way, and whilst the rooms and facilities are good I would suggest five stars is a little generous. It is really the rooms which let the place down as they are similar in feel to a good Travel Lodge albeit with air conditioning. We opted for half board which seemed to work ... ...tastes - it's buffet style so a large serving area displays the dishes, and guests help themselves to whatever they want. There are lots to choose from, and I'm pleased to say that all of it is good. Great Holiday Advantages: Food Disadvantages: Nothing My girlfriend and I have just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel and we loved it! After a weeks experience, we highly disagree with other reviews which tell people to stay away because we (being a young couple in our teens) really enjoyed it. Upon arrival, we were in our rooms after about 15 minutes checking in. We were staying in one of the rooms in the main building so the room itself was very basic but very clean. Our towels were changed ... ...sunday). Overall, we were pleased with our accomodation. The food at the hotel was the best part of our holiday - absolutely delicious! Breakfast was really nice with a selection of bacon, eggs, sausages, croissants and cereal among others available throughout the breakfast time. Lunch had a variety of hot dishes as well as cold ones. I usually stuck to the salad which was always fresh and very tasty. Dinner again was very pleasing. Good Holiday Advantages: pool, george, atmosphere, food for adults Disadvantages: food for kids, steep hill We spent 1 week here in June 2005. We went as 4 adults 2 kids (4 & 10) and 2 babies(1). We were a little worried as we had read a few poor reviews on the net and thought we had wasted our money. We were pleasently surprised during our stay here. Although the rooms are not 4 star any problems we had were promptly attended to by George the rep - he was a godsend. the pool is stunning especially on a night time it has a nice cut off part for the kids ... ...kids club team were great fun working very hard all week. we had a 10 year old who was not impressed with the kids club and a 4 year old who was so it likely depends on the kids ages. The food was varied and very nice but there was no alternitive for the kids, also no burgers or ice cream during the day just soup and drinks. we went on day trips which George organised for us and were great value for money. I stayed in a Pink Palace Advantages: Stunning views and excellent staff Disadvantages: No aIr con and very hilly ...the holiday spent in the Adonis Asontis apartments. These apartments are in the heart of Kalami within absolutly incredible views overlooking the bay and the Ionian Sea. The Apartments dominate the slope down to the village from the road above, known locally as 'The Pink Palace' due to the pink buildings it snuggles in amongst the olive groves. The very nature of the apartments do not make them suitable for people with mobility problems but it ... ...of the lower bar at Adonis Asonitis - next to the lower pool. It opens at 8.30 am and is an ideal spot to go and get your breakfast - both Contintal and full English. In the evening there are always “Chef’s Specials”, cooked fresh each day, these include traditional Corfiot dishes such as Stifado and Lemon Lamb . Excellent! Absolutely 5 stars!! Advantages: Entertainment, Food, Private Beach, Bar, Staff are lovely!! Disadvantages: Bees This hotel is one of the best i have been to, my family and i have been several years in a row. We all enjoy the relaxation of the private beach, the beautiful sunset, the amazing great variety of food, the beautiful surroundings and watersports available. I would recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a relaxing holiday to get away from everything, however do expect to come home at least half a stone heavier after 1 week as the food is delicious ... ...fres towels in you room and for the pool daily, the entertainment is regular and fab for every1, the lunch is like a huge barbeque with salad and plenty of choice , the breakfast is everything you would ever want4breakfast...and the dinner is a new theme most nights with many items cooked fresh by a chef for you.
