Corinthia Marina Hotel, Saint Julian's

...hotel forms part of the Corinthia Beach Resort, which includes the five star Corinthia San Gorg Hotel, so there are plenty of facilities. I think I counted 4 swimming pools, plus lots of sun decks. There is also a Spa, but I didn't venture in.

There are several restaurants to choose from, though the outdoor snack places were closed for the winter season. Café 24 do a wonderful but huge BLT, as well as lots of other lunchtime / afternoon ...
...You could have cereal, toast, meats, cheese, continental, cooked breakfast, and there was lots of fruit on offer. We didn't have any evening meals at the hotel, as there was so much to choose from - Paceville and Spinola Bay were both walking distance if you're young and fit. Despite this, the hotel is pretty quiet.

First of all, some information about the hotel:

This hotel is actually 5*.

The hotel is located at St. George's Bay, St. Julians, and every room has a balcony that overlooks the bay. A small sandy beach is nearby, but I should imagine that this gets packed during the summer months.
The location is perfect for shopping, bars, and bistros, but you do have to walk a bit further for the nicer restaurants. Most evenings we walked to Spinola point, where the views at night are very pretty.

Breakfast was great - lots to choose from. You could have cereal, toast, meats, cheese, continental, cooked breakfast, and there was lots of fruit on offer. We didn't have any evening meals at the hotel, as there was so much to choose from - Paceville and Spinola Bay were both walking distance if you're young and fit. Despite this, the hotel is pretty quiet.

We had a beautiful view of the sea - something I really miss now we're back home, and of the surrounding area. We weren't far from the beach, but spent more time on our balcony.

The bathroom was also roomy, with a power shower that practically knocks you over, and a nice comfortable bath.

The concierge was very friendly, and he couldn't do enough for us. He took the bags up ahead for us, gave us some advice, took care of our post, and was generally very friendly and nice to talk to, as was the rest of the staff.

After the farce of our previous hotel (Bay Street Hotel), this place was a haven for us. As we transferred from another hotel, we had to wait in reception whilst a room was prepared, but even this area was comfortable, and we were provided with Welcome Drinks (a non-alcoholic version of the local spicy wine) whilst we waited.

We did have one problem - the first night our room was terribly hot, despite us putting on the a/c. We ended up opening the balcony doors, which was bit noisy. We told reception the next morning, and they were able to fix it (the previous week had been very cold, and the heating hadn't been switched over to cold air, or something), and we were able to sleep comfortably for the rest of the week.

We would LOVE to come back to stay here, and have talked about looking at other hotels in the chain for our next holiday.
