Windsor Inn- Windsor Out
Advantages: Good location, triple room available, price Disadvantages: Lots of stairs, NO HOT WATER, Not very clean
~~The Windsor Inn~~
~~Booking~~
A girls holiday was in order and Cork seemed like the perfect location as it was slightly cheaper than Dublin but there was still lots to do.
After trailing through many search websites we finally came across The Windsor Inn hotel. So this is where our problems began.
We booked the hotel through booking.com and got to the end of the whole confirmation part and paid when a pop-up came along saying the room we'd ... ...I had confirmation of the Windsor Inn saying that we did have the room. (I eventually paid for 2 hotels in the end and had a real problem cancelling 1 of them).
So we finally sorted this all out and hooray we were going on holiday!!
~~The Travel~~
We flew with a basic airline that were a bit of a pain with checking in but we got throught that pretty quickly and the flight was only 55 minutes. Cork airport was completely empty and so by the time ...

I didn't see no silver springs but, I did find a good bed!
Advantages: Comfortable beds, decor, staff Disadvantages: Location may not be suitable for everyone
I stayed at the Silver springs hotel during at the end of April 2009 during a work trip - the hotel is a 4* property that is located in Cork and is literally on the outskirts of the city centre as you come of the main road leading into Cork. It is a fairly large hotel for it's location with plenty of facilities and I was looking forward to experiencing his hotel.
First impressions:
As you come down the main road from Cork airport the hotel is located ... ...you must take the exit to the left hand side which takes you over the bridge and across to the hotel. This is because the hotel is built on a slight hill. So as you first spot the hotel it actually looks quite impressive and also quite modern looking with the building of a grey colour which sounds drab but, it isn't! The car park is spread around the building and once we had found two spaces as we had two cars with our group, we headed inside with ...

Luxury by the water
Advantages: Great location, car parking, leisure facilities Disadvantages: A little too stuffy
Stayed in this hotel in the run up to Christmas for a weekend and was impressed overall.
I am unable to give an indication of price per room per nite unfortunately as we were upgraded, happy days, to a very impressive hotel at no extra cost, but this is definitely priced at the top end of the market.
The reception is luxuriously decorated with extremely helpful staff, who were more than willing to point us in the direction of the nightlife and ... ...The location of this hotel is great because you are just on the periphery of this area meaning you get an enjoyable rest if you want to get away from it all.
Food in the hotel was of the highest standard. Meals are available by booking into the restaurant or by simply sitting in the bar, where you don't need to book in advance. Note about this place, you don't get much craic from the barstaff here, if you want a good bit of Irish craic, head away ...

Jury's inn hotel
Advantages: close to city centre Disadvantages: shower in bathroom hard to turn off and on
If you are going to use this hotel then from the airport take the 'SkyLink' coach. This is faster and cheaper than a taxi would be and there is a stop directly outside the hotel. There are however two routes the coaches can take. Make sure you check before you board or the other stop is quite a walk away from the hotel.
The hotel its self is well situated and is only a short walk from the city centre and the bus station. At the bus station you can ... ...and the old Midleton distillery.
The hotel itself has quite a large foyer and the staff at reception are friendly and helpful and are willing to arrange taxis and tell you how to get to local places of interest.
The room was fairly large and it was clean and tidy and as you would expect it was serviced daily. As well as the usual tea and coffee making facilities there was a direct dial telephone, an internet connection point (cost of €4 per hour) ...

Quality day after day
Advantages: Rooms, Food, Gym / Spa Disadvantages: I cannot stay as much as I want
...have been staying in the Maryborough Hotel for six almost consecutive weeks and it is fair to say that, they deliver a 100% TOP quality service. You always find your room in perfect condition of cleanness, the food and service is constantly perfect, the attention to detail in the breakfast bar, reception, etc is fantastic. The food served in the restaurant is soooo good. Last night I had the Traditional Fish & Chips (crispy and delicious), tonight ... ...perfumed), I've already planned that tomorrow night I will have the Steak on Red wine sauce (it will be outstanding) Oh! and now they have an special offer "Wine & Dine promotion" that you can enjoy from Monday to Thursday having Steak or Salmon or Chicken with a Pint or a Glass of house wine for only €20 The gym is fully equipped with Technogym material. Individual LCD TV screens on every Cardio Marchine. And with the extra compliment of having ...
