Jury's inn hotel
Review of Jurys Inn, Cork by
mjc121
Advantages: close to city centre
Disadvantages: shower in bathroom hard to turn off and on
If you are going to use this hotel then from the airport take the 'SkyLink' coach. This is faster and cheaper than a taxi would be and there is a stop directly outside the hotel. There are however two routes the coaches can take. Make sure you check before you board or the other stop is quite a walk away from the hotel.
The hotel its self is well situated and is only a short walk from the city centre and the bus station. At the bus station you can ... ...and the old Midleton distillery.
The hotel itself has quite a large foyer and the staff at reception are friendly and helpful and are willing to arrange taxis and tell you how to get to local places of interest.
The room was fairly large and it was clean and tidy and as you would expect it was serviced daily. As well as the usual tea and coffee making facilities there was a direct dial telephone, an internet connection point (cost of €4 per hour) ...

Pop a Cork! - Cork International Airport Hotel
Review of Cork International Airport Hotel by
bananamanuk
Advantages: Unique, Extremely Comfortable, Location, New build, Service
Disadvantages: Maybe a little pricey
...a child, I'd never visited Cork until this year. The area differs enormously from the West Coast, in that there are more rolling hills, arable farming and very reminiscent of Cornwall or Devon.
On my travels I always like to stay in nice hotels, well at least the best that I can afford, and that usually entails trawling through the various travel booking engines to see which is offering the best deal. I tend to find that the airport hotels are usually ... ...trip I came across the Cork International Airport Hotel. The thing that first grabbed my attention was that it was a newly built hotel, so it would be clean, it overlooked the runway so I could take pictures, it was close enough to the city for the sight-seeing element of my holiday and it was a 4 star, so I could assume good quality and has 150 rooms.
Below is what I found.
LOCATION
The hotel is located opposite the main airport terminal at Cork ...

...a Cork in it!"
Sheraton Fota Island Golf Resort & Spa
Fota Island
Cork
Ireland
5-star hotel
~~~~~~~~
Background
I travelled across to Cork a couple of weekends back to view and try out the facilities of this 2-month old newly-built hotel, part of the Starwood group of hotels and branded as "Sheraton". I would definitely have no hesitation in recommending it to any of our clients and certainly to leisure guests also.
The trip was ... ...and beautiful, the newly built Sheraton Fota Island Golf Resort & Spa is situated on Fota Island in County Cork. This scenic island is in Cork Harbour, just north of the larger island of Cobh. The hotel is located between 20-25 minutes from Cork International Airport, and is ideally suited for exploring the beauty and serenity of southern Ireland; something I would really like to do more of. I wonder if that's anything to do with my love of Irish ...
Luxury by the water
Review of Clarion Hotel, Cork by
funkazzy11
Advantages: Great location, car parking, leisure facilities
Disadvantages: A little too stuffy
Stayed in this hotel in the run up to Christmas for a weekend and was impressed overall.
I am unable to give an indication of price per room per nite unfortunately as we were upgraded, happy days, to a very impressive hotel at no extra cost, but this is definitely priced at the top end of the market.
The reception is luxuriously decorated with extremely helpful staff, who were more than willing to point us in the direction of the nightlife and ... ...The location of this hotel is great because you are just on the periphery of this area meaning you get an enjoyable rest if you want to get away from it all.
Food in the hotel was of the highest standard. Meals are available by booking into the restaurant or by simply sitting in the bar, where you don't need to book in advance. Note about this place, you don't get much craic from the barstaff here, if you want a good bit of Irish craic, head away ...
