When most young people think of Cornwall, Newquay and sufring are the first things into their heads. The first time I visited Cornwall it was during the solar eclipse of 1999, but on a subsequent visit, staying in the small market town of Helston near the Lizard Peninsular, I discovered the Blue anchor. I visited the "Blue" as it was known that day, with a group of friends, the thing that makes the Blue different for all other pubs is the drinks it sells. The most commonly drink in the blue is Spingo, this is a beer it brews its self to be anything from 9 -15 percent. I'm not normally a beer or larger drinker, but Spingo is very drinkable, as you may have guessed by the alcohol content, a several pints of spingo at around £1.60 a pint and we all tottered off down to the park to chill in the cornwell sunshine. The blue is a small friendly pub, which would be just as nice in the winter due to the cosy interior and the possibility of a wood fire burning in one of the many grates. If you are ever in Helston, I strongly reccoment a couple of pints of Spingo, especaill the Christmas or Easter brew and a walk in the park. Just be careful not to fall in any of the open gutters of Helston

Advantages: Buses are more frequent than they used to be and new routes have been introduced. Disadvantages: They often break down and aren't waterproof in the rain!
