Here is a chance to holiday without adding airmiles or delays at departure teminals (unless you travel the M5 friday evening on Bank Holiday weekends)
Visit
Englands most southerly county (or if you're a native you would say the only unliberated country in Great Britain!)

CORNWALL

It is a county that mainly survives on tourism and has many different types of accomodation form holiday cottages to hotels to B&B's to campsites.
The only drawback is sometimes the weather isn't like you would like to get abroad but most years we manage to have at least two hot days in May let alone the summer and come home with a tan!
Our favourite camp site is Tregarton because it has large private pitches, a fab play area that is secure with a fence to stop kids running into the roadways, a swimming pool, tennis court, and lush toilets and showers(check their website - www.tregarton.co.uk) near Mevagissey, it is 2miles from the Lost Gardens of Heligan and not far from the Eden Project, there are quite a few National trust places to visit within 20 miles too (like Lanhydrock, Antony, Cothele, which are all houses or gardens like Glendurgan which has its own beach,or Trellissick and also lots of coastline and beaches for walking sitting or simply admiring ).
The owners have various rates for different times of the year and also offer deals when staying for more than 1 week, our family holiday cost just £165 for 8 nights for 5 people plus the cost of travelling and food.
Camping or Caravanning is getting more popular but it isn't for everyone, so try the other types of accomodation and givr the county a try you may find like us that holidaying abroad isn't necessarily all there is to a holiday!!
