Penzance, Cornwall
Advantages: Good transport links, usually good weather! Disadvantages: Gets quite busy during summer months.
Penzance is the primary town of West Corwall (Penwith) and is popular with locals and tourists alike. It boasts a shopping centre, leisure centre, and close proximity to many beaches such as Long Rock and Marazion.
Close by is the popular destination St Michael's Mount, and Lands End. It is the ideal place to stay during a holiday in Cornwall. Penzance also has the only seafront promenade in Cornwall, there are many things to see and do in this ... ...Acorn Theatre, or take a swim in the Jubilee Pool, a 1930s outdoor swimming pool? There is a cinema, perfect for a rainy day, and plenty of places for a nice walk on a clear day.
Due to its extreme south-westerly position, Penzance often has some of the best weather in the UK.
The town is well connected by public transport with regular train services to London Paddington. There is also a major bus station nearby with buses to Truro, St Ives, Falmouth, ...

The Best Week of Life Thus Far...
Advantages: All the facilities, great price, perfect for my age Disadvantages: None!
Going on holiday when you’re my age, can be a pain in the arse. Can we afford going abroad? No, we couldn’t, for starters, I didn’t have a passport, so that is £70 straight away. Could we afford renting a house or something? Yes, but no-one would rent to us for the week due to us all being 18/19. So, with options running out, my friends Jam and Kay, spent an evening frantically looking for something to do. They eventually found this place, Rose Cliston ... ...of us going, and a mental week had been planned, however, as the date got closer, nearly everyone bailed, and it ended up being just Jam, Kay and I. About Rose Cliston Rose Cliston is a Holiday Park, located just outside of Newquay, and it is designed for people aged 16-30. It is basically a huge camp site, where you go and pitch your tent, or caravan, or if you wish hire a huge tent thing from them. You could then spend all your time at the ...

The Tortoise Garden In Cornwall
Advantages: Chance to see and learn, reasonable price too Disadvantages: none
...tortoises in a brochure at the campsite (Tregarton Park) we visited in May and as my 7 year old son has developed a love of tortoises from his teacher we took him to see them as a birthday treat.
Entry is by donation at the suggested rate of £2.50 per Adult and £1.50 per child (I am not sure what the concessions were though) which goes on the care and upkeep of the hundreds of 'Living Dinosaurs' that are rescued or bred here. On entry we were welcomed ... ...given a brief talk about the facilities which have been set up to cater for everyone no matter what age or infirmity you are. The garden has some open pens which are used in the warm days and glass houses where the tortoises can choose to live in doors or out depending on temperature and weather and with over 200 to see you wil not get bored because there are lots ofinformation sheets and leaflets to read / take away with you to learn from.
My son ...

Lands End - the end of the world! (Or, Britain)
Advantages: Attractive rugged landscape and plenty of walks available Disadvantages: Although a cafe is available take food with you, Attractions/shops can be expensive
Lands End is an extremely attractive virtually unspoilt location at the very edge of mainland Britain. In fact it is the most westerly point on a rugged landscape looking out into the vast Atlantic Ocean.
Probably it's most known landmark is the signpost detailing distances to John O Groats and New York
On the edge of the cliffs is a farm with stone shelters within enclosures protecting the sheep, goats and pigs from the harsh atlantic winds, with ... ...Who and RNLI and a Lands End clothing shop. There is a discount available for those that visit all exhibitions, but at the time of my visit none of these were open.
Additionally there is a trawler to explore and a childrens play area.
This is one place where it is the location and not the attractions that are important.
I love Lands End and at 2 hours drive from where I live is certainly a place I will visit again - in warmer weather! ...

Fowey
Advantages: Beautiful Views Disadvantages: Very steep walking
We visted Fowey a couple of times last year while on a family holiday. Staying in Looe we drove around to Fowey and found a car park at the top of the Village. Little did I know what a steep hill we had to walk down to get to the hub of the village. (Definitely recommend sensible footwear if you take the walking option) We walked all the way down, not realising that there is a car park mini bus which will take you there in more comfort. Idon't know ... ...on it, but judging by the River Taxi fares, i would expect it to be very reasonable.
There are few small shops in the Village and a museum and banks. By the waterside, there is a fish and chip restaurant, the usual ice-cream stand and some Public Houses.
Views are beautiful across the water and there are lots of boat trips on offer. The second time we visted Fowey during our stay, we crossed from Polruen on a river taxi. Again, we parked at the ...
