Advantages: quiet & peaceful, beautiful scenery, close to Ben Nevis, a perfect lifestyle Disadvantages: A long way for just a weekend
...I first visited FortWilliam when I was barely 4 years old. Hardly remembering anything about it, my parents took me back when I was 14 to tour the Highlands and the Hebrides. We stayed a lot longer than planned in FortWilliam and since then I have been back there every year either with my family or my friends.
Perfect for camping, with plenty of sites not far away, and perfect for those who wish to live the Highland Hotel lifestyle in the glamourous hotels, and bed & breakfasts. Also a perfect setting for renting self-catering accommodation in the area.
As you walk down High Street, you will notice that this is the second largest town of the Highlands, next to Inverness. Plenty of shops at very affordable prices, plenty of gift shops, and plenty of pubs along the street...

Many of the best known establishments of this chain are located in Southern England and I have stayed at several of them.
I thoroughly enjoyed a 3 day/ 2 night holiday in Exeter, the country town of Devon, and got a good accommodation, breakfast and dinner package for just over Stg50 pounds per person, per day, at the elegantly furnished Buckerell Lodge, a small country-style hotel, about a mile or so from the city centre. Meals in the Raffles Restaurant – an award winning eatery – were most enjoyable and I...
