Having said that it is now a French island , but the Italian influence peeps out here and there. Back to the food, couldn't ask for better quality or value, absolutely superb. ...has to be seen to be believed - the island rises very steeply from beach to mountain - although driving can be hair-rasing to say the least - more than a few hairpin bends on narrow roads and steep climbs followed by plummeting falls - adds to the adventure if you can keep your eyes open! ...seven week working holiday In Corsica and I have to say I was amazed that I had never before heard of this beautiful island. It is overflowing with white sandy stretches alongside clear green blue sea. The white cliffs of Bonifacio are the perfect frame for the open sea and when you look down and see the people who have managed to reach the all but deserted beac below you know you have to go down there. Corsica is a beautiful island of the Mediterranean coast of France. The island offers sandy beaches, rugged coasts, mountains, wild countryside, fascinating towns and villages. Package tours have hardly touched the place, but it is a favourite destination for the French, Italians and Germans and it's easy to see why.
