LOCATION The hotel is situated in the small spanish village of san pedro de alacantara, which as said by the holiday rep is "untouched by tourism, other than the McDnalds!". The village is around a 15 minute walk from the hotel, however within only a 5 minute walking distance, within sort of a mini village there are some small shops and bars as well as a little supermarket. In the village there are shops and bars and it has to be said that some of the tapas bars there are amongst the best I have been in, and well worth a try. The village and area is very remote with not much else about but all the essentials are on site.
THE ROOMS The rooms are in several blocks and are of a generous size. The decor is appropriate though not fancy and generally the rooms are clean and comfortable. Rooms are not air conditioned unless you pay extra for a special room.
THE FACILITIES/ACTIVITIES There are three pools in the hotel, one large and two smaller. They are clean and usable though the large one is not suitable for those with younger children. There are activities everyday and these are coordinated by reps, and usually consist of a get together of many people for a ompetition. The winner always gets a certificate which is presented to them on stage in the night time show. The activities are generally things like bowling, shuffleboard etc and there are seperate competitions for children and adults, on different timetables, though if enough children want to join in with adult competitions a seperate competition will normally be set up at the same time. The facilities are generally very god and everything there is to do is well coordinated and fun for all. There are also tenis, badminton and other outdoor sports for individual use as well as a childrens park. There are shuttle buses to the beech, which is around a 15 minute walk rom the hotel to the not so good beech, or a 45 minute walk to the better of the two beeches, both of which are owned by the hotel and offer watersports, beechsports and boat rental, pedalos are highly worth a go but we went on them as the tide was rough:- bad idea though very fun trying to pedal!!
THE RESTAURANT/BAR(S?) The restaurant in the hotel serves three meals a day as the hotel is all inclusive. There is a wide range of spanish and english food, with good choice and all food is well prepared and is very nice. There is a poolside bar serving all drinks which are free, great for alchoholics. The staff are friendly and mostly speak english. I had a very wierd experience whilst there in that from the reception area I walked into another bar that was of a very old style. The day after I saw it, I went back to show my family and there was nothing there but a wall! There is also a snack bar offering small bits and bbs to eat whilst the main restaurant is closed, this is very good for a midnight snack after the entertainment has finished.
THE ENTERTAINMENT Every night there is a mini disco for the children in the hotel and a show that varies each night in a fortnightly cycle. The shows vary in length and are very good, other than when you get picked at random to appear on stage like my little brother did.
Generally speaking a good hotel in a nice village. Well worth a visit.

Review of Cortijo Blanco Hotel San Pedro de Alcantara, Marbella
Advantages: Beautiful gardens, great staff, fresh food Disadvantages: views from some rooms onto roads
My boyfriend and I( both 19) wanted a last minute relaxing week's break in Spain and after searching for hours I found this one. The reviews scared me no end! but I have to say I thought ' Its £390 each for a week's all inclusive in the height of Spanish summer, who cares?'. Hotel : When the rep signalled that this was our stop I was a bit shocked, I hadn't expected something so beautiful or well kept. The gardens were flourishing in the 30 degree ... ...change to the usual concrete blocks you might find in Benidorm. One little thing which did cause a problem was the reception area, it is really small for the amount of people arriving for check in at the same time Although, in saying this though the staff speak good english and gave us good directions to our room( the complex is large!). The room : Have to say it was very basic but exactly what you are looking for when you'll spend your days at the ...

Advantages: Absolutely stunning hotel and area Disadvantages: It's a bit tricky getting in and out of the hotel after midnight
It is utterly beautiful, half of the hotel is the original hotel building and the other half further back is much more modern. We stayed in the more modern section of the hotel.
The bedroom was comfortable and the bathroom was lovely, there was a shower over the bath, and the bath itself was very big and deep. The room was very clean and pretty and we had our own little balcony with a couple of chairs on it.
As we stayed on a half board basis breakfast ... ...it had a classy but relaxed atmosphere and the food was served as a buffet. There was quite a lot of options, but vegetarian options were a bit basic. I would definately reccomend this hotel as it is stunning and ideal for exploring the area. I definately reccomend renting a car however, as otherwise getting around could be tricky. ...
