Advantages: Beautiful golden coloured architecture Disadvantages: Overcrowded, built up and smelly
luck. Malta is full of garages that must employ some really good mechanics, as I have never seen so many Ford Cortinas, Escorts, Austin 1100's and Morris Minors outside of a vintage car rally. I was most disappointed not to spot a Ford Capri, but I bet there are more than a few loitering about the island somewhere. Driving is a bit of a free for all, with drivers frequently changing lanes for no reason whatsoever. A combination of Italian blood and twenty year old cars does not make for a nation of careful drivers.
The bus service around the island is second to none - buses are extremely cheap and plentiful. Virtually anywhere on the island can be reached by bus even if you have to travel via the rather enormous bus terminal in Valletta. One word of warning though, the buses are rather old fashioned, and coupled with the bumpy ...

Cortina d’Ampezzo is called the jewel of the Dolomites. It deserves this for its unique and beautiful location, and..also, for the fact that many rich people go there and are not shy of displaying their jewels! A good place to stay is the Internationl Camping Olympia, otherwise, my suggestion would be to stay in some agritourist ppalce not far from Cortina. If you fancy visiting the town, you can come for a day trip by car, while if you want to go trekking in summer, you do not need to be based here. I only visited Cortina during winter once, but I was too young to remember. ...
Advantages: Price, performance and class Disadvantages: Very rare
The Ford cortina was a car which alowed the average family a chance to enter motor vehicle ownership. It aslo and more importantly saw the first rise of the 'hot' or performance models that were derived from these normal family cars. The Lotus Cortina was the fastestr ford to that date and gained cult stauts from it's release date up until now. Clean versions could sell for 15,000 pounds today which for a car built in the 60's is quite impressive. The classic colours of the car was white with a trademark of the time green stripe running from the cars circular tail lights a the way to the front of the cars long wing. The angular styling of the main body contrasts with the roundness of other features on the car such as lights door handles and interior features such as the dials and window winders. The car has been compared with more ...
