Cortina d’Ampezzo is called the jewel of the Dolomites. It deserves this for its unique and beautiful location, and..also, for the fact that many rich people go there and are not shy of displaying their jewels! A flat in Cortina sells for around the same price of an equivalent flat in Chelsea. A good place to stay is the Internationl Camping Olympia, otherwise, my suggestion would be to stay in some agritourist ppalce not far from Cortina. If you fancy visiting the town, you can come for a day trip by car, while if you want to go trekking in summer, you do not need to be based here. I only visited Cortina during winter once, but I was too young to remember.
