A taste of Spain

Advantages: Nice weather, pretty cheap
Disadvantages: Almost like being home because of a large Norwegian community

...looks like the Manhattan of Costa Blanca with all the tall concrete buildings. Benidorm has a long sandy beach where you can rent a sun bed and a parasol. Along the beach you’ll find plenty of bars and restaurants and lots and lots of shops selling all sorts of junk :-) It was pretty easy to get from Albir to Benidorm even without a car…bus number 10 seemed to run between the two places pretty often.

Terra Mitica
To get some ...
...Mitica. The park is located on the hills outside Benidorm so it only took us 15-20 minutes to drive there from Albir. When we were driving towards the park we noticed that we were pretty alone. After paying 5 € for the parking we walked over to the entrance of the park and once again we were puzzled to see that there were not that many people there. I guess this is not the main season because I have never experienced a park with such few people. ... more

...I must say the North Costa Blanca is my favourite by along way.I found the South dry and flat. The North has beautiful lush green mountains and valleys. After my first visit to the North,I fell in love with the area and have since been back 10 times.I even bought a house in Denia as my heart is now there. The North also has beautiful beaches and contrasting beaches.Denia for example has sandy beaches in the north and rugged rocky beaches to the south. There ...

...affordable Package breaks in the Costa Blanca. Welcome to my world. Come on in, but wipe your feet please. And no pets. No smoking at the back either. Viva Espana. Who has ever said that, and not go on to buy a Sombrero and Wicker Donkey? The Costa Blanca. The White Coast. Not Dover. Not White. ...of Not Dover, there is a really quite splendid water-park that goes by the name of “Aqualandia”. I’ve just been. Literally – I was there yesterday. And today I’m going to wax lyrical about it for a while. I may even throw in a foreign word or two. Aqualandia is accessible for €4 by taxi from the main Square in Benidorm, or for €2 you can get a bus. Taxi’s are your quickest and most reliable way of getting into the park although, such is the bizarre ...

...of the towns in the Costa Blanca. This market sells anything you can think of - crafts, food, music, videos, clothing etc. The main place to visit in the Costa Blanca, and the main attraction for thousands of tourists every year is Benidorm. Think Blackpool, heat it up a bit, remove the trams and you've got Benidorm! Whenever i holiday in Spain i always spend at least a couple of days and nights in Benidorm, because there is a hell of a lot to do. ...

SUN SAND SEA SURF AND SARDINES

Advantages: peaceful, beautiful, unspoilt, cheap the list can go on
Disadvantages: can be far too hot

Moraira on the Costa Blanca and is just under 2.5 hours flight away from Gatwick, the weather in June is as you would expect fantastic with temperatures up into the 90’s daily and with nearly 12 hours of sun shine what more could you ask. Alicante Airport

Advantages: Good location, decent amenities
Disadvantages: Can't think of any

I use Alicante airport for my annual break in Spain and find it is convenient and fairly easy to use. It is situated just outside Alicante on the Costa Blanca, around 46.5km from Benidorm. It is within driving distance of Valencia, around two hours and 179km. Arrivals You would probably fly to Alicante if you were staying in Benidorm, Torrevieja, Altea, Calpe, Moraira or Teulada. It is popular with budget airlines such as Easyjet and Bmibaby and there are flights from many regional airports in the UK such as East Midlands, Liverpool, Bristol, Newcastle and Stansted to name a few. There are around ten car hire companies who operate out of the airport including the big names like Avis, Europcar and Hertz, these desks are located in the arrivals hall and can get busy at peak times. There are also local car hire companies who ...

You have to love this place

Advantages: Close to Alicante Airport, Loads of places of interest closeby, Cheap to eat out
Disadvantages: High rise buildings

I am fortunate enough to own a house in the Costa Blanca hills and I make Benidorm a regular feature in my breaks out in Spain. Benidorm is lively and there is something for everyone ie. all ages. The bars/cafes/restaurants are plentiful and inexpensive. There are plenty of clean sandy beaches. Mundemar and Aqualandia were great fun and my niece had her photo taken with sea lions and dolphins. The live shows were amazing as the animal trainers were in the water with the animals. My parents loved their evening out at benidorm palace. I generally make Benidorm my social place and at the end of a fun packed day I go back to my lovely house in hills with a med view! What more can one ask for? ...

Disadvantages: can be a little more expensive than other european airlines but worth it

please excuse the all capital notes that follow:- I thiml these are very important for you to read before reading the rest... >PLEASE READ ALL AS FIRST FEW LINES REPRESENT AIRLINE WHEN I FLEW SOME TIME AGO, THEY ARE NOW SOMEWHAT DIFFERENT! >ALSO THIS REVIEW IS ON MONARCH SCHEDULED - ZB, NOT MON >ONE LAST NOTE:- MONARCH IS NOT ADVERTISED AS A BUDGET AIRLINE AND ALTHOUGH MORE EXPENSIVE THAN SOME BUDGET AIRLINES THEY ARE GENERALLY NOT TOO BAD. I flew with monarch Scheduled for the first time over five years ago, and it must be said that at the time I was somewhat less than impressed. I found the planes to be in awful condition and generally flying with them was displeasurable.
