A GOOD DEED PAID OFF: During January my fiancee, who is a network engineer, created a website for his friend in work out of the goodness of his heart!
The website was created in order to advertise a villa in Costa Blanca, Spain. My fiancee created a really nice website for him for nothing and it took him few days, well a good deed paid off!
His friend liked the website so much and really appreciated it, so we got to stay in the villa for nine days for free in April 2005!
OUR FLIGHT: We booked our return flight online with bmi baby, there was a special offer on at that time and our flights were only £64 each, return! The flight with bmi baby was good and the hostesses were friendly and helpful! There are loads of cheap flights online at www.bmibaby.com, check it out.
OUR RENTED CAR: We wanted to rent a car for the full nine days in Alicante, so we also booked that online, a great website we booked our rented car from was www.carjet.com, where we were put through to Europa Car and their service was great, English speaking and really friendly. We booked for our car to be waiting at the airport when we arrived. The car was a 1.5 Nissan Micra diesel and was immaculate throughout, the car people at the airport were great, we followed their directions they gave us and met them in the car park where we were handed the keys, really quick and simple, just dropped the car back at the airport the day we went home! Excellent servcice. Great value for money, we paid around 200 hundred euros! which is worth it!
ALICANTE AIRPORT: Alicante Airport
is the main airport for all Costa Blanca destinations. It is a lovely airport with gorgeous, shiny, marble floors and is really clean. Lots of shops, restaurants, bars, toilets, seating, e.t.c, There are lots of taxis available outside too which are reasonably priced. Friendly people working there, the best airport I have ever been to!
THE VILLA WE STAYED IN:
LOCATION: The villa is situated in La Marina Urbanizaciones. La Marina is situated near the Costa Blanca coast approximately 20 minutes drive from Alicante Airport, 10 minutes drive from Guardamar, 20 minutes drive from Torrevieja and 5 minutes drive from its Blue Flag beach.
La Marina is a well developed urbanisation with all amenities within easy reach. There are 7 banks, 3 public swimming pools, snooker club, bowling club, supermarkets, the cheapest one is Super - Valu!, national health doctor, private clinic, pharmacy, newsagents, taxi services and plenty of bars and restaurants (English, Spanish, German, Italian and Chinese) offering varied and inexpensive eating out. The Restaurants I reccomend are deffinetley Pizzeria, Big Bens and Frans, lovely food and great prices!
BEACHES: There are plenty of Blue Flag sandy beaches which are safe for bathing. La Marina beach is huge with white sand and gorgeous blue sea. Really quiet and peaceful when I went there so I loved it!
Costa Blanca has one of the best climates in the world with 320 days of sunshine on average each year.
BEDROOMS: We stayed in my Fiancee's friends villa which he rents out all year, the website for the villa is www.costablancaluxuryvilla.com. The villa is amazing. There are 3 good sized bedrooms, 2 with double beds and 1 with 2 single beds. Plenty of cuboards and storage room, bed linen, quilts, pillows,e.t.c provided!
BATHROOM: The good sized family bathroom has a bath, shower, toilet, wash basin, beday, laundry basket, cuboards and towels provided!
LIVING ROOM: The living room is really spacious and wonderfully equiped, CD Player, CD's, Large, flatscreen, colour, television with 55 cable channels, Playstation, Playstation Games, Laptop, Dining table and chairs, really big, comfortable setee which seats 6 people and lots more!
KITCHEN: The kitchen has everything! Fully fitted, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, big Fridge/Freezer, Microwave, Kettle, Gas/ Electric hobs with full size oven, Cofee Perculator, Toaster and additional freezer. Really nice and spacious.
CONSERVATORY & SOLARIUM: Through the kitchen and upstairs leads you to a a nice sized private conservatory which has a double sofa. Then you can walk outside to your own private solarium, which is really spacious and has a shower, sun loungers, barbeque,wooden patio table and chairs, swinging chair. Really nice and private perfect for laying out in the sun and for the kids to play!
FRONT OUTSIDE: The front outside of the villa has a driveway with gates and a patio garden with plants and flowers, a bench, hose pipe and table and chairs. Really nice and spacious.
SWIMMING POOL: There is a swimming pool right by the villa which is shared by some of the other villas, really nice big pool with grass, flat sunbathing area around pool.
SUITED FOR: Families, couples, Golfers, anybody looking for a great holiday!
PRICES TO STAY IN VILLA: The prices to stay in the villa are on the website above, the villa is quite cheap to tay in and is deffinetey worth it, gret value for money, I deffinetley reccomend!
PLACES TO GO: We visited some relly good places in Alicante, here are the ones I reccomend:
TERRA MITICA: Terra Mitica is situated in Benidorm which is about 45 mins drive from La Marina. It is a theme park which is designed to have a look of Egypt, Rome and Greece, it is brilliant! Loads of rides, rollercoasters, circus shows, boat trip, rapids, log flumes, A huge Nintendo Arcade, there is just loads! Brilliant entertainment in shows, lots of restaurants, toilets, seating, photos taken with animals in park, lots of acts and dancing going on around park! Really a brilliant day out, deffinetley go there, perfect for children, adults and everyone! Prices and more info can be found on www.terramiticapark.com. 100% fun and thrills. Great value for money and great memories.
RIO SAFARI ELCHE: Rio Safari Elche is about 15 mins drive from La Marina it is a Safari Park which is full of all different kind of animals. There are monkeys, tigers, lions, jaguars, reptiles, aquarium and loads, loads more! You can be driven in a geep safari around some of the park and walk the rest! A great day out for all the family deffinetley a must see, plenty of restaurants and shops on site too! Animal shows include Elephant, Alligators, Parrots and Sea lions, brilliant! SAFARI PARK VERGEL: Safari park Vergel is situated in Vergel about an hour and 15 mins drive from La Marina. This is a Safari park where you can drive your car through the lions, tigers,e.t.c, then you park your car and walk through the rest. Absolutely brilliant, huge park with every animal you can think of, deffinetley the best I have visited! Lots of animal shows including, tropical birds show and sea lions show, terrific! There is also a boat tour, swimming with the sealions, Minigolf, Go Karts, Donkey ride, Childrens Train, Trampolin, Restaurants, Picnic Area and lots, lots more! LOCAL LA MARINA ACTIVITIES: If you want to just stay locally in La Marina then dont worry because there is a never ending list of things to do:
Golf, Go-Karting, Tennis, Bowls, Jet skiing, sailing, wind surfing, swimming, fishing, cycling, diving, horse riding, paragliding, walking, safari park, wildlife nature reserve and 2 Aqua theme parks for adults and children. All within a short distance!
I would deffinetley reccomend a car if you want to visit the places I have mentioned and the beach is quite far to walk to. There are taxis available. It all depends on what type of holiday you want!
SHOPPING TOWNS: The towns near La Marina are Santa Pola, Guardamar, San Fulgencio, Rojales, Almoradi, Delores, Alicante and Torrevieja which are all packed with shops for everything, bars, restaurants, beaches everywhere, great for all families, children and adults.
I deffinetley reccomend you go to Alicante for a holiday it really was brilliant and so many things to do!
