Holiday Village,Benalmadena-Costa del sol, stayed 2 weeks from 14 july 2007 Flight 2 and a half hours with First Choice was short and on time so really good as I hate flying!! Transfer From Malaga airport it takes about half an hour to transfer to the hotel, it is on the outskirts of Benalmadena. ...behind that is this wonderful hotel (Sol Principe). This hotel is situated alongside the beach of Playa mar approximately 2km outside the city of torremolinos. It is served by Malaga airport which is a little over 4 miles away and takes only a 15 minute transfer by coach to reach. ...course the pools. The hotel has 623 rooms over 10 floors; I was on the 9th floor with an outstanding sea view. The rooms themselves have a rather large living area which through an arch leads to a smaller sleeping area, just of the living area is a small space sectioned of as a kitchen which has a fridge and the usual very basic two rings, a grill and a microwave to cook with. Disadvantages: Uphill, awful food.

Stayed here two nights 16/17th Dec 06. Pleasant reception and staff. Decent sized, clean rooms with aircon. Food absolutely horrible. I'm not picky when it comes to food, but I really struggled to find something edible. My son, who lives in Spain and eats anything, was hard pushed to find something and landed up with salad. Free water or wine with dinner. TIP: leave your coat on your chair if you leave the table otherwise everything is cleared away ... Read review

Disadvantages: Very bland and repetitive food

We went to the Beach Club in May 2006, I must admit that reading other reviews I was a little worried as other families had suffered from the bug. We went to the beach club on an all inclusive basis and paid £305 per person on a late deal with Thompson Holidays. Hotel itself is abit dated but the rooms are clean and there is a maid service everyday. As mentioned in the disadvantages the food did become repetitive but there was always plenty to ...
...If you like the beach then this is the place for you !! the beach is just over the road (the road did get alittle busy at times so I do not recommend that you let the little ones go on there own. Entertainment was outstanding, with a different act on every night, there is also a game of Bingo for the lovers out there (the money on offer was good). ...through Thomas Cook. The hotel was sold to us as a self catering property although on arrival you could tell that was using a bit of poetic license. Basically the kitchen (still resent calling it that) was rammed into the front portion of the room just by the door, probably about 3 or 4 foot wide. The rest of the room had two single beds which could be manoeuvred to make a double, one large wardrobe, a number of draws to store clothes, a telephone, a satellite TV with Sky News, BBC World and CNN as the English language stations.
