Costazzurra Hotel, Agrigento

Disadvantages: Unfriendly staff and very poor customer service

...After travelling extensively throughout Italy and being very happy with a variety of accomodations, this is the first hotel I would NOT recommend! Here's why: The listing for this property indicates Wireless Internet for guests; a service that was important for myself and my travelling companion and it was one of the reasons we selected this property. We asked the gentleman who checked us in (owner?) and who spoke very little English about this. He assured us, "no problem, no problem with internet connection". After settling in our room, we could not find a wireless connection. I went to the reception and was now told by him we needed to plug into the telephone line. Advantages: Great view of the sea, great swimming pool
Disadvantages: Coach loads, not for younger segment

...Please don't let the title put you off! The hotel is actually very nice next to a stream on the beach front in a little town outside of agrigento. We flew in to Palermo Airport and drove down to the hotel on the other side of Sicily. Words of warning here. The map shows a motorway going next to Palermo (like a bypass). Don't take it unless you want to have a hear attack. The Sicilians drive cars like nutters and all of them had dents! and in Palermo you have free for all with mopeds and pedestrians on this alleged motorway... After getting through Palermo the road is more sedate through the hills and mountains of Sicily, you will travel through Mafia country but they always leave tourists alone (bad for their reputation...) Agrigento is another nightmare traffic wise with no lane markings, directions, traffic lights... Read review

Advantages: beautiful experience, beautiful temples
Disadvantages: the temples are surrounded by hugly houses wich ruin the beauty of the landscape

...Valle dei templi is a must if you go and visit Sicily, it is fanstastic experience and seems you are back in the past in the Greek times. The best time to go is Spring. I would avoid the summer because it could be too hot . you pay a small fee to enter into the temple and the visit can last about 2 hours. To bad you can\"t go inside the temple of Giunone but it worth to go there anyway. during the night the temples are illuminated and it looks like a great show. You could visit the valley but not necesserely spend the night into the city of Agrigento because the seeside and the small seavillages around are much better then the citycenter.... Read review
