...attractions, I spotted one called Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens and was really pleased to see that we were allowed to take the dogs with us for a day out.

History
In 1923 the Manor House and Estate (that is now the park) were purchased by Colonel Heyworth-Savage and when he died in 1948, the estate was passed to his grandson John Heyworth who is the current owner. In 1969, he decided to open the gardens to the public. The ...

Cotswold Wildlife Park is set in 160 acres of gardens and houses an amazing collection of birds, reptiles and mammals from all over the world. Many of the animals that can be seen here are endangered and the park is a member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria which means that they exchange animals with other Zoos and Parks for further breeding programmes to help the animals from becoming extinct.

Go wild in the Cotswolds

Advantages: Saving Endangered Animals
Disadvantages: No Local Transport

...took my children to the Cotswold Wildlife park and Gardens, I have been there on quiet a few occasions and thoroughly enjoy the experience every time. A little bit of history about the park It first opened in 1970 by John Heyworth, which has now been taken over by his son Reggie Heyworth. The Manor House was built in1804. Parts of the house are now open to visitors. The park does not receive money from any where else but from their visitors. ...
...Closed Christmas Day. The Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens is situated just outside Burford, Oxford, on the A361. It is only 18 miles from Oxford and is very easy to get to from either the M40 or the M5; it is very well signed posted. ~ Transport ~ There is no local transport to and from the park, the nearest bus stop is in Burford and that is 2 miles away, I think this is the one and only big down fall that the park has, in my opinion there ...

Beautiful place for the whole family!

Advantages: So much to see. Animals very well looked after.
Disadvantages: Not enough time to see everything!

Have just been to the wildlife park with my ever-growing family. Haven't been for quite a while but saw a photo of a baby meerkat recently and wanted to take my children to see them. It was so much more than I had remembered! The lemur place was amazing. I have never been so close to lemurs. One of them came up to us and touched my camera. The kids loved it. So did we. So many animals, beautiful day out for anyone who loves wildlife. It's one of ...

I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD LIKE CARAVANNING

Advantages: Several restaurants/pubs within walking distance
Disadvantages: None

is also a shop selling items such as bread, cheese, milk etc. The caravan pitch was on gravel, which makes it easier and less muddy if it rains. We were able to connect to electricity and water. Therefore there was no need to miss Coronation Street (how sad am I). Seriously though, we had a great time. The children spent most of their time outside in the fresh air, mixing with other children. We were able to sit outside in the evenings with a bottle of wine and talk to other adults, happy in the knowledge that our children were enjoying themselves, and above all were safe. Nearby there are many great places to visit - Bourton on the Water - with the model village, Birdland etc, Cotswold Wildlife Park, Hidcote Manor Gardens, Stratford Upon Avon. Moreton In Marsh is an old market town, and the market still runs every Tuesday ...
