Beautiful place for a tranquil break
Advantages: Beautiful Elizabethan Manor House with charm Disadvantages: None
...with my husband at the Bibury Court three times over the last year. It never disappoints.
Bibury Court is an Elizabethan Manor House, beautifully decorated and furnished, with 18 bedrooms. We have stayed in two different rooms, one four poster, another king size (probably luxury). On two occasions, we have only paid £99 per room, per night, and this included breakfast. Those were the rates on late rooms website, the full price was actually £165, ... ...of Bibury. William Morris called Bibury the most beautiful village in England, and it has the famous Arlington Row cottages , one of the most photograped sites in the Cotswolds. The river Coln runs past the Hotel, and ducks and swans glide leisurely past. It seems so tranquil, I feel rested just thinking about it !!
The hotel itself is privately owned, each room having some lovely original features, and all en-suite. There are a few flights of stone ...

My Big Fat Cotswold Wedding
Advantages: Excellent food and accommodation, Beautiful setting, Good service Disadvantages: Driving up the hill to reach it!
...myself a guest at the Bear of Rodborough (henceforth “The Bear”), a hotel somewhat different to the chains of faceless budget establishments I usually find myself in when staying away from home. By “different” I really mean “far nicer and vastly more expensive”, but as it was for my wedding, I felt it was justifiable to stay in a luxury country house hotel less than an hour’s drive from my home. The road that led us to the Bear was a long one, as ... ...allowed us to choose the Bear of Rodborough over the Bay Tree Hotel! If you want to have a look at the full range of hotels, then go to: http://www.cotswold-inns-hotels.co.uk/home/ourhotels.htm **A Bit About The Bear**
Situated amongst 300 acres of stunning National Trust land on Rodborough Common above Stroud, on the eastern edge of the Cotswolds, The Bear is in a simply stunning location. Just a short walk away from the hotel will give you magnificent ...

The Snooty Fox - Not too Snooty for Suzi
Advantages: Gorgeous Rooms, Courteous Staff, Tranquil Location in Royal Tetbury Disadvantages: Limited Carparking
...submitted an enquiry to 'The Snooty Fox' with our selected dates.
As we had no response from the enquiry sent via lastminute.my fella Chris called the Hotel direct, to enquire about availability. Surprisingly, they did have a room available and advised if we should book direct with them (rather than through the agent; lastminute) they would discount the rate by 10%. This was all the excuse we needed and booked there and then.
It's not the cheapest ... ...journey. The Snooty Fox is located in the heart of Tetbury, Gloucestershire; surrounded by antique shops and huge old country houses all made from the pale yellow that is Cotswold Stone. The nearest large town is Cirencester which is approx 10 miles away.
The Snooty Fox was built in the 16th Century and started life as a Coaching Inn. (Which the English Heritage website describes as a public house offering lodgings to the passengers, and stabling ...

Westonbirt - Trees galore
Advantages: Lots of trees and nature, good to wear the kids out Disadvantages: Expensive gift shop, children's maps a bit vague
...of our trips was to Westonbirt Arboretum as it was not too far a drive from Bristol and a good place for the kids to have a run around and picnic, also my mum had some vouchers for money off the entry fee, so it was good value too!
Westonbirt is one of many forest type/wooded areas looked after by the Forestry Commission, this is probably one of the smallest sites that I have visited, but they all seem to be well managed.
Prices and opening times?

Center Parcs Longleat- A couple's perspective
Advantages: Food quality, park in general, choice of things to do Disadvantages: cyclists
Visited this Center Parcs with my boyfriend and had a fabulous time. Positives
Food - We found there is lots to do and such a wide choice of restaurants. We ate out most nights - there is an amazing curry place and also a Strada, Cafe Rouge and Tapas restaurant which were all reasonably priced and situated at different points around the site, which did really make it feel like you were going out for dinner every night
Pool - The pool complex was ... ...everyone - plenty of adults reliving their youth again!!
Accomodation - We booked a 3 bed comfort plus, which we found to be very spacious and loved seeing the deer etc on our patio every day
Drawbacks
Cyclists - beware of those people who really don't know how to steer a bike - there were a lot of them and we found ourselves nearly getting run over on a daily basis
The changing rooms in the pool area seemed to get dirty easily, probably due ...
