Advantages: Lots of Character Disadvantages: No Facilities
Skegness unfortunately has a shortage of good hotels. The Vine is probably the best in the area.
I have stayed there on four or fiver separate occasions. Part of the Best Western Chain of independent hotels, the hotel regularly participates in Best Western special offers (3 nights for 2 etc).
The rooms are clean and well decorated with good quality funishings and nice ensuite bath rooms. The Rooms are light and airy. Not the cheapest place to stay (but cheaper than certain other hotels such as the grand scarborough...) but it is warm and comfortable. The Staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The Hotel has a well stocked bar with a Restaurant and also serves bar meals.
I haven't eaten dinner in the Restaurant so cannot comment on the food the menu looks moderately good. I have eaten Breakfast which is well cooked local ...
Advantages: Comfortable, convenient for city sight seeing Disadvantages: luke warm bath water and average food in restaurant
Durham Marriot Hotel Royal County
Old Elvert, Durham DH1 3JN
A BIT OF SCENE SETTING:
This hotel is part of the Marriott chain but is an old hotel which was once the home of Elizabeth Bowes an ancestor of the Queen Mother. Apparently it was often visited when it was privately owned by Edward VII when he was up in Durham. It has had quite a large series of extensions and now boasts 150 bedrooms, some of which are suites and family rooms all and have en suite bathrooms ( As you might expect in a hotel I would have thought). This is a four star hotel right in the centre of Durham so perfect for a city break as you can park your car in the hotel (complimentary) car park and walk round the city which is very compact and just a hop over the road from the hotel.
We booked on the internet and got a special deal for two night?s bed ...
Advantages: great fun Disadvantages: might lose all ya money

Well ok let's start what to do when it is a nice hot day at Skegness. Well really loads of things. Let's think Skegness what would be the first thing you would do on a really hot day? Of course you would go to the top tourist attraction the beach. Stay there for how long as you wont and get that tan how you like it. Then what do you do? Well you can do any thing then of course you could go and get an ice cream and walk back to your hotel/BMB.
Or maybe you won't to have some real fun at the fair. Where there is every thing to ...
