Couples, Negril

Advantages: Everything - its amazing!

My husband and I went to Couples Negril for our honeymoon last year - we did a two resort holiday, the first week at Couples Negril and the second at Couples Ocho Rios. ...standard rooms are really nice - I can only imagine how lovely the deluxe ones must be! You can see the beach from all rooms (it seemed) and most overlook the gardens/wedding gazebo. There was a king size bed, CD player, satellite TV, safe, air conditioning, clean sheets and towels every day - even towels to take to the beach, which you could exchange for fresh ones. I have been to this hotel twice and am due to go back for the third time! It really is All Inclusive from the moment you step off the plane and stroll to the in airport couples lounge for your first drink, to the shuttle to your hotel, and resort excursions. The service here is warm, friendly and attentive without being in your face or imposing. Advantages: No kids, excellent value for money
Disadvantages: small beach (albeit private)

...-all-inclusive resort which basically means forget your money and get on with having a good time. The only extras are treatments in the beauty salon, extra trips if you want them and the gift shop. So, doesn't sound cheap? Well, it's not what you would call cheap but it is not unreasonably priced for what you get. Shop around and you can get the 2 week package for £1600 each (flights, transfers, 1 week at Ochos Rios, air transfer for one further week at Couples Negril). So, what do you get….. ~~~~ Food ~~~~ This has to be the most important part of my holiday and was I spoiled! You could eat almost 24 hours a day. There were 5 restaurants ranging from a beach grill to a gourmet restaurant. Advantages: Better beach than Ochos Rios

...Week two of my honeymoon and since both Andrew and I are prone to getting bored by staying in the same place for too long (yes, we did see more than the bedroom walls Peter!) the second week of our honeymoon was spent at the sister resort to Couples Ochos Rios (OR), Couples Negril. Apologies in advance but this opinion will make a lot more sense if you read my opinion on Couples OR first. This is not an attempt to get more reads but as many visitors do the "Double Take" ie go to both resorts I feel that comparison is very important. Apologies too for the asides addressed to Peter Smyth - he was concerned by my last report that I described everything bar the ceiling which, he stated, should have been the one thing that I should have had an opinion on, it being my honeymoon!
