Advantages: Large room, cheap Disadvantages: Not much in the area
of attractions - there is not much around, it is an industrial estate after all! There is a large Tesco and some other large 'out of town' retail outlets about ten minutes drive away (follow signs for ring road). Didn't see much else in the area to be honest although the town of Andover is near by.
Makes a good location to stop off over night if travelling somewhere else or visiting a near by attraction as we did. (Stonehenge is about 20 minute drive and Longleat safari park about 40mins) ...
Advantages: Convenient location, no fuss, Marriott standards. Disadvantages: It's clearly Marriott's poor relation - but not a major "con"!

The bombs have not come, yet. Slough is still standing. And Priceline send me back there time and time again. I accept an element of blame; perhaps I?m growing fond of the place. Perhaps the fact that the ?Legoland? theme park is nearby and that Josh absolutely loves it is a bonus. Whatever! We found ourselves in Slough once again; this time, at the CourtyardbyMarriott.
It?s officially rated as a 3 star hotel, and I was not exactly enamoured about the idea of staying there (the Slough issue aside) ? so I?ll try to say exactly why I?m wary of three-star hotels. Hotels tend to be rated on a five star ...

As yesterday was a bank holiday, we decided that it would be good to take the girls off somewhere different for the day, and although it was somewhat chilly we settled on the wonderful Hawk Conservancy in Hampshire. It is very easy to find as it is about 4 miles west of Andover, directly off the A303. It is a place that my husband and I have visited a few times over the years but we definitely had not been since having my youngest daughter (who is now 4) so it was interesting to see it in a different light.
The Hawk Conservancy Trust is very concerned with conservation and ensuring the continuation of endangered birds of prey.
