Stayed at this hotel for five nights, their web site promised views over Lake Windermere & a high standard of service. It is situated a short walking distance from the centre of Windermere & there is ample parking spaces. The room was gloomy & a little cramped, it was reasonably equipped but I was concerned in having bare electrical wires sticking out of the bathroom wall!! The rooms were never cleaned properly. The restaurant was excellent with good service from mostly foriegn staff & good food including a decent breakfast. Reception staff was less friendly & the hallway looked like it had never been cleaned for a considerable time. We never did see a view of the lakes from the hotel so don't expect too much should you book a room. I filled in a review card regarding our stay at the hotel & remarked about the rooms & wires sticking out of the bathroom wall but never received a reply.
