Candia Park Village,Agios Nikolaos
Review of Candia Park Village, Agios Nikolaos by
rotty64
Advantages: Excellent facilities, good food
Disadvantages: Isolated location
Went to Candia Park Village in August 2006 for 2 weeks. I'm 42, my husband is 41 and we were accompanied by our 10 year old son.
We had booked a one bedroomed apartment on a self catering basis but when we arrived, found that we had been upgraded to a one bedroomed suite. This was apparently bigger and more spacious than our original accomodation, so no complaints there. It was very clean and reasonably well equipped and contained all the necessary ... ...shower gel. There was a small TV which we watched a couple of times when we came back to the apartment to get ready to go out.......not a great deal to choose from channel wise but then it's not something I place a great deal of importance on when I go on holiday but others might.
The location of the rooms can be a little awkward. We were near the main road and quite a trek away from the supermarket, pool and restaurant. We didn't mind it because ...

good for relaxation
Review of Kallithea Apartments, Agios Nikolaos by
highheels
Advantages: scenic location, nice staff,
Disadvantages: middle of nowhere
this is a nice hotel run by a german family. the rooms are a good size and the balconies absolutely massive. However it is a bit out of the way it is between the towns of elounda and agios nikolaos and a taxi is needed to reach either town. there is a shop in the hotel but none other near the hotel, so again a taxi ride would be needed to get to either town. There wasn't any evening enteertainment either.
Personally due to the location i found this ... ...hotel which would be perfect for older couples looking for total r and r.
the only other thing i would advise parents to consider is the road that runs along the front of the hotel, it is a nightmare to cross as you cannot see around the bend and the greek drivers are mental.
i booked this with thomas cook, and as it was a last minute deal it only cost about £1500 for 4,for a week, which is a bargain and whilst it was beautiful it is probably not ...

charlie-m
Advantages: everything!!
Disadvantages: coming home
19 of us went to the Frixos apartments in malia in 2007. it was excellent rooms were basic with air con and as we stayed in the bed and breakfast part of the hotel we had a fridge in our room on request, although we had no kitchen facilities but the snack bar by the pool was great and cheap!! the staff and reps were great. i would not recommend this hotel to families it is more for young and lively just like the resort itself. the hotel is a 2 minute ...

Stelios Stalis - Superb Stay!
Review of Stelios Stalis Apartments by
Luvlylana
Advantages: Great location, low cost
Disadvantages: Basic (by standards of travellers used to Spain and the like)
...in Stalis. We chose the Stelios Stalis Apartments as they were not too expensive and in a very good location.
When we arrived, we were allocated room 324, and paid for our air conditioning and safety deposit box straight away - both were an absolute necessity, especially the air conditioning, as without it the heat would have built up during the day and been stifling when we arrived home at night.
Room 324 overlooks the sea and you can see the ... ...prevent any nasty consequences!
Stelios Stalis has two adult pools (one of which was quite slippy), a children's pool, a play park, a bar/restaurant, internet access, a playstation 2, poolside games (i.e. air hockey, snooker etc.) and a poolside library with a range of books donated by previous customers.
The food in the restaurant was delicious, though we did try and eat out in Stalis, Malia and Herssonnisos for more authentic Greek cuisine. The ...

Perfect, family run apartments
Review of Lena Apartments, Elounda by
MisterCheese
Advantages: Friendly family, near the beach.
Disadvantages: 5 minute walk to town, hardly a disadvantage, but I had to right something apparently
...evenings and nights and then Lena and co tend to be at the bar still when you get back, if you feel the need to stay up all night! It is also worth noting the guests tend to be very friendly and of all ages. Families, couples people on their own and all are recieved and join in. The pool is small but perfectly formed. Great to know the kids are safe and cool enough to refresh you after an afternoon sightseeing. ...
