...cannot recommend this place enough. Dia is great for everyone but i would say if you are looking for an 18-30's style holiday then i would stay further down in the town. I got exactly what i wanted from a holiday.... to chill in the sun all day be close enough to the nightlife to have a couple of big nights but be far enough away to leave it all behind. We booked our holiday through teletext, and got a bargain. We were immediately impressed by the hotel and were checked in swiftly. As we were a family the hotel thought we would like a bungalow as it had more space, but had booked us in an upstairs apartment with a baby and a two year old! We requested a room in the main hotel building and were moved quickly and a porter moved all our luggage. My husband also 'lost' his mobile and the reception ...
...and we had enough room, although you would be squashed in the main hotel building rooms if you had bigger kids. The food was excellent, with plenty of variety. It was always hot and was replaced regularly. You could also book packed lunches for excursions. The poolside bar served snacks like chips and toasties all day, ice cream and soft drinks. 19 of us went to the Frixos apartments in malia in 2007. it was excellent rooms were basic with air con and as we stayed in the bed and breakfast part of the hotel we had a fridge in our room on request, although we had no kitchen facilities but the snack bar by the pool was great and cheap!! the staff and reps were great. i would not recommend this hotel to families it is more for young and lively just like the resort itself. the hotel is a 2 minute ... Stelios Stalis has two adult pools (one of which was quite slippy), a children's pool, a play park, a bar/restaurant, internet access, a playstation 2, poolside games (i.e. air hockey, snooker etc.) and a poolside library with a range of books donated by previous customers.
