Sheer luxury
Advantages: Too many to mention Disadvantages: A bit pricy!
...spent a week at the Blue Palace July 2005 for our honeymoon. We could not have picked a better place. We chose a room with a private infinity pool, which was lovely with a stunning view of the tiny island of Spinalonga. The rooms were impeccable, and clean. Breakfast was included in the price which we ate on our patio every morning (4 euro charge) as opposed to the buffet style restaurant. For ony 4 euros it is well worth it. Although the hotel was ... ...can always find a lounger by the pool, comy sofa to sit on by the bar etc. The complex has a number of restaurants including an a la carte restaurant. We ate several times at the restaurants but preferred to either take a tax into Elounda (10 euro taxi) or the 2 minute stroll down the road to Plaka, a sleepy fishing village. The fish dishes in the restaurants in both Plake and Elounda were delcious and very reasonably priced.
Only one thing, if ...

My experiences at this hotel.
Advantages: Beautiful surroundings, and very clean Disadvantages: Not much of a beach.
The hotel is situated in amazing surroundings that take your breath away; mountain rages surround the hotel and its area, Elounda. However the employees, I found to be quite rude and unpleasant, at time especially to children. Nevertheless, the food was faultless with plenty of options for people to choose from. The hotel was very clean and with beds changed everyday. Also, there were pleanty of facilities frelly available to use. The swimming pool, ... ...soaking up the sun. Children were also entertained because there was a kids pool and also a kids clud, and children could participate if they wanted to. They were not forced into participating which somtimes can spoil the holiday for kids because they dont want to join in. Howver, the beach not far from the hotel did not live up to my expectations because there was no sand. It was simply a huge rock by the sea. Although, there were plenty of water ...

Independent travellers find Real Crete at Villa Aliki in Myrtos!
Advantages: Year round subshine, warm sea, empty beaches, all facilities, good price, no herds of tourists. Disadvantages: Very difficulty to say goodbye.
...the four villas run by Villa Aliki. They are ideally situated up the hill from the beach to benefit from the cooling breezes. They have terraces, balconies and gardens, and each apartment has two large bedrooms and a substantial living room/kitchen. Owned, designed and built by a Crete enthusiast from The Netherlands, Villa Aliki has those little luxuries that visitors are used to, yet not always available in Greek-owned hotels. For example: hot ... ...who can solve any problem, and answer any query it seems.
My family and I have stayed at Villa Aliki for a month each year since 2007. The olny problem we have found is leaving the place at the end of our holiday...it is very difficult to say goodbye. ...

Fab time would go again !!
Advantages: Variety of things to do ! Disadvantages: price
We went here in 2006. Me, my partner and our 8 year old son. We had a fab time. Loved every minute of it. Our son was in his element with the water slides. The staff/reps were fab and made a real effort to get to know you, and we had a laugh every night. There is a club where your children can go in the evning for a few hours whilst you have a little 'me' time. We chose not to do this as a personal preference although that has nothing to do with ...

Fantastic view on the port
Advantages: Very nice hotel, great value for money Disadvantages: candles in the terrace would have been a +.
...Crete where I stayed in Casa Leone Hotel in Chania. The hotel has 5 rooms so it is very feeling like home. The room we were in is the honey moon suite. Fantastic terrace overlooking the port. We spent many start of evening there have some wine we could store in the fridge that is in the room. The hotel provides you with glasses and corksrew. This was very romantic. The room is great too but I didn't spent much time in it. The bed is very large and ... ...is not repettivie and it makes you feel even more at home. The yogurt was delicious. The main room of the hotel has very high ceiling and a column in the middle. Venitian style I was told. To be honest it is very beautiful. Staffis fantastic too and you have free internet. Excellent value for money. website: casa-leone.com I believe. ...
