Independent travellers find Real Crete at Villa Aliki in Myrtos!
Advantages: Year round subshine, warm sea, empty beaches, all facilities, good price, no herds of tourists.
Disadvantages: Very difficulty to say goodbye.

Fantastic view on the port
Advantages: Very nice hotel, great value for money
Disadvantages: candles in the terrace would have been a +.

Crete Hot September Sun
Advantages: In Chania, Can upgrade to Blue Wing, On a major Bus route, Fab Pool
Disadvantages: Bit outside city centre and away from beaches

We upgraded to the Blue wing, for adult guests, which ment our transfer was by taxi, a very worthwhile addition on its own. Best place to stay in Greece
Advantages: Best Hotel in Crete

I have been to mike's apts since 1994 and have returned 2-3 times each year at various times of the year. what can i say apart from they are the best well maintained and serviced apts i have been to and the owners and staff are the most polite and friendly people you would care to meet, nothing is to much trouble and if they dont have something you want they will endeavour to get it to make sure you have a great time. the home cooked food at mike's ...

good for relaxation
Advantages: scenic location, nice staff,
Disadvantages: middle of nowhere
this is a nice hotel run by a german family. the rooms are a good size and the balconies absolutely massive. However it is a bit out of the way it is between the towns of elounda and agios nikolaos and a taxi is needed to reach either town. there is a shop in the hotel but none other near the hotel, so again a taxi ride would be needed to get to either town. There wasn't any evening enteertainment either.

the only other thing i would advise parents to consider is the road that runs along the front of the hotel, it is a nightmare to cross as you cannot see around the bend and the greek drivers are mental.
i booked this with thomas cook, and as it was a last minute deal it only cost about £1500 for 4,for a week, which is a bargain and whilst it was beautiful it is probably not ...
