A lovely, friendly hotel located in small historical market town of Bawtry

I love this little down, just down the road from my parents in Doncaster (home to the famous St Leger).

When I was living in the area, I often popped in to the Crown for an evening meal, or a drink with friends and have recently, on a visit back to my old stomping ground, stayed at the hotel.

What to Expect

A friendly welcome, good food, nice rooms everythig you would expect from a good quality hotel. The Crowns website nailed it on the head when they said " Step into the Crown and you will immediately discover a chic, idyllic retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life". It really is a pleasurable experience staying here.

What to Do

I was there for a wedding, so I didn't do much other than drinks lots of champagne, eat lots of food and generally have a fun time catching up with other friends who I'd not seen for sometime but there is is lots to do in and around Bawtry if you want to make the Crown your base....

The hotel is an ideal base from which to explore excellent shops. There are lots of lovely boutiques in Bawtry and you are always guaranteed to find something unique.

A variery of restaurants Chinese 9The China Rose is a great dining experience, lovely surroundings and great food), Italian and Indian and of course good old fashioned 'pub grub, in some of the local pubs (The White Hart on Swan Street is the oldest pub in Bawtry dating back to 1689!).

The Dales are not too far away, then there's the Doncaster Dome (one of Britain's largest sports and leisure complex under one roof!) and its ideal if you are visiting Doncaster Racecourse (Home of the Grand St Leger) and don't want to be based in the busier town of Doncaster itself.

Rooms

You have a choice of standard, superior, executive and there are a few suites. There are 76 rooms in total at the Crown.

Eating

The Crown has a lovely restaurant set in a rustic and contemporary setting. Sleek leather booths, log features and unique modern art create the perfect ambiance. Tables are sleek and simple and the food is wonderful with lots of variety.
