...I Arrived at the Hanover early afternoon Tuesday 12 August (Grouse shooting season begins). On arrival met by young man who had me fill in forms. Asked by manager?? to follow hotel worker and was led outside hotel, around some side streets back to main street and then to another hotel the Edward. Went inside and decided I was not staying (run down wreck). Returned to hotel and informed manager?? that I had booked the Hanover and was not going to another hotel. Informed that this was part of his hotel (which the manager of the other hotel had told me was a lie). This hotel books you in even if full, takes your money and then books you into a lower price one. Had my transaction cancelled immediately. Buyer Beware. RS Glasgow...

...Hanover (English spelling) is an awesome twon. first of all you will not be able to avoid going to Hanover. if you go on a train anywhere in northern germany they all seem to go through there, but make sure you stop off and go beyond the recently rebuil;t train station. the town is not renowned for its beauty, but it is till not ugly. there are some beautiful parks and one lake next to the footbal ground which is breathtaking (unfortunately hitler designed it). there are excellent shopping facilities and because of the high student population the nightlife is great (paolo paolo being a great club). hanover is quite a young place and a bustling town (even more so with the Expo 2000 taking place there - of which i have heard mixed reports), but you can escape into the nearby harz, an hour up to bremen or down to hamlin and hildesheim, so...

As for star rating, I am totally torn. For the price I paid, the room, and the facilities available at the hotel, they should get a five, for the evening meal, bar prices, mmmmm, no comment. As someone who can sometimes spend all week away in a hotel, it is the little things in life that twist the balance for me, and things such as incorrect billing, forgetting the early morning call, the alarm not working on the TV, it would be a three, therefore will err on the side...

Well im back onto the hotel reviews again after a recent visit to Ottawa in Canada. After freezing my buttocks off and nestling into my scarf grabbing my bags and rushing into the hotel I had little chance to look at the exterior of the hotel!

We stayed here for a week recently on a trip to Orlando to visit Universal Studios and Sea World. We stayed in a Disney hotel later on in the holiday so we didn't mind that it was a long way from Disney. We bought it as part of a package deal including... more
