Shiny New HI Tech Hotel in Hong Kong Island 1 of 1 Ciao Users found the following review helpful
Rating from skklau 5 Stars ()

Advantages Mod cons, High tech ,very large exceptionally clean rooms and great service

Disadvantages Distance from MTR station, and price but it is a mid range hotel so its OK.

Stayed just the one night here.

The Hotel is relatively new and it shows when you first enter the lobby as well when your room.

The hotel in located in Causeway Bay on Hong Kong Island. Causeway Bay is the shopping mecca of Hong Kong Island. The hotel is round the corner from Times Square which is where HK people being the the new you like NY but not as glitzy. Times square is a massive shopping mall and is also the location of the MTR ( Metro) station.
Around the hotel are countless shops, shopping malls, restaurants and is also right next to the bars in CWB.

Checking in was swift and met with a smile. All staff spoke good english and were courteous, treating me like someone really special and important, even though i did turn up with a rucksack, shorts and a superman T-Shirt!!!

On check in i was asked if i minded if i was put in a disable room only difference being that there is hand rails in the bathroom ( I accepted).
Not sure if this meant the room was slightly bigger but i was booked into the standard deluxe and the room was absolutely huge. definitely the largest hotel room i have been in HK.

The room is really well equipped has the standard rob, slippers, safe, kettle, iron, ironing board, shoe horn, hairdryer and mini bar and complimentry 2 bottles of water in crowne plaza packaging (impressed me). Room has a large table with stationary and writing material and deck light. The Bathroom was large an spacious ( but no bath tub) had all the normal toiletries , shower cap, tooth brushes with toothpaste, comb etc. Ample towels for at least 3 people.

The bed was extremely comfortable with large down duvet and soft down pillows.

Heres what the hotel is all about.. the TV is a huge 42inch with a full separate speaker system which you can hook your ipod to. Full cable access and well and pay per view channels. Internet can be either wired or wifi. There is even a port in the wall beside the deck where you can plug your laptop to display on the massive TV!!! and if thats not enough the hotel supplies you with a personal mobile phone for you stay and is linked to your room as well as the hotel.

The aircon is personally control alway important and the rooms are very clean and very nice decorated and furnished tastefully and very modern.

The hotel has a pool (didn't use) as well and a bar on the top floor where you can actually se the happy valley race course...(would look great on weds night races )
there is also a restaurant and bar on the lower floor and a separate restaurant for breakfast servings.

Service is top notice and doormen and beel boys were always eager to help with a smile.

Overall I have no complaints on the hotel, only slight niggles

Price is slightly high but for the quality of rooms, mod cons and service i would say it is worth it if you want to spend a bit more on a hotel. I booked mine through the official website on advance purchase which i found to be the cheapest rate i could find, it was 130 UK pounds or 200 US dollars. For that money i think this hotel is up there with the best hotels in HK while its still shiny new.

Although the hotel is in a good location and isn't a problem in terms of amenities nearby. The entrance to the MTR is close however the actual station where the trains are and a bit of a walk roughly about 10 mins walk. so if your not travelling light and have a lot of bags get a taxis.

Another tip if you don't want to spend a fortune on laundry within the hotel, there is a laundrette just around the corner close to the mtr station where it is a fraction of the price.
