I would definitely go back to the Crowne Plaza if I returned to Lille. It was a great place for a getaway, and so easy to tralve to and from because of how close it was to the station.
My partner and I went to Lille for a weekend in August. Neither of us knew the city but we wanted a citybreak somewhere smaller than Paris, so we decided to give it a go.
We travelled by Eurostar on a deal where two nights in the hotel and return tickets from London cost £179 each.

The receptionist was very friendly and all the staff we met seemed to speak both English and French. In fact, they were really helpful throughout our stay, giving advice and arranging for us to leave our bags in a side-room between check-out and our return train.
Our room was absolutely gorgeous. We had a king size bed, plenty of storage space, room to wander round, a desk and chair and an amazing view across towards the centre of Lille. The complementary tea and coffee tray also had some delicious proper French hot chocolate in it. The en suite bathroom had etched glass walls and a gorgeous mosaic tile floor and was well-stocked with toiletries and the power shower was excellent!
We didn't use the minibar, cable TV, internet connection or 24-hour room service, but all were available if we'd wanted them.
The hotel is pretty big, 10 floors and 121 rooms, and I had the impression it was probably used for business meetings during the week, probably as it's so close to the station. For tourists like us, it was a 10-minute walk down one road into the centre of Lille to go shopping or sample any of the tourist attractions - it's not the most central hotel but being so close to the station and a very short walk from the centre, I think it was an ideal location.
We didn't try any evening meals at the hotel, as there are loads of really nice looking places to be found around Lille and we preferred to stroll and find them, but there was a reasonably-priced bar with a good range of cocktails and the breakfast (included in the price) was superb. There was a choice of cold meats and cheeses, fruits, cereals, breads and pastries, as well as a hot selection which would have pleased both Brits and Americans with pancakes and maple syrup and well as bacon and eggs, and delicious roasted cherry tomatoes. If breakfast is the true test of a hotel's quality, then this passed with flying colours.
