P&O ferries cancels tickets without notice

Advantages: Nice ship, nice cabin, very good meals on board.
Disadvantages: Cancellation of tickets without notice.

Be aware when booking P&O ferries! The company might just cancel your tickets and expects you to buy new ones. Recently, I booked a return passage for two people from Rotterdam to Hull. We missed outbound journey due to traffic jams and were advised by P&O ferries to take an alternative route from Calais to Dover using the same tickets without additional charges. We did so and when entering the ferry in Calais we were asked to confirm whether we ...
...We said yes but no one told us what would follow. Unbelievably, P&O ferries cancelled our tickets for the return journey. When we arrived in Hull, the P&Q ferries employees argued that because we missed our outward journey, the return ticket would be invalid too. We were expected to buy new tickets. The manager refused to hand out anything in writing confirming the circumstances of the situation. After three hours of discussions and only after we ...

minicruises from hull

Advantages: cheap break away
Disadvantages: cost of food and drinks

...to amsterdam and bruges now. P&O are great (especially if you can get the 241 deals that they often do. their cruises suit every taste and budget (we stick to the cheapies tho, with cross-They do channel shopping cruises, city breaks to Holland and Belgium - and even a taste of Spain with 3-night mini cruises from Portsmouth to Bilbao. If you fancy a break with a difference P&O are great , they do special themed mini cruises with special bands ...
...in the party mood! The only downside is the cost of the food. At around £18 for dinner its not cheap but you do have the option of a snack bar if you prefer. Drinks are also quite expensive but we tend to buy a lemonade and put our own vodka in!! cheeky - yes but saves a hell of a lot of money which you can spend on chocolates in bruges! ...

Thomson Celebration Red Sea Magic : Fabulous Cruise

Advantages: Fantastic sights, great food, excellent service and value for money
Disadvantages: Can't think of any

...Sea Magic itinerary on the Thomson Celebration in November/December 2007. I was travelling with a friend as a reward for completing a very demanding project at work and we picked the Red Sea Magic cruise as we both fancied seeing Egypt and the Pyramids. We booked three weeks before departure and paid £489 each for an outside cabin on deck 1. The price included flights from East Midlands Airport, transfers, cabin and full board which I thought was ...
...is taken care of by Thomson and you don't need to worry about it. After some confusion with the luggage carousel we grabbed our bags and made our way to the buses outside for transfer to the ship. You are then taken to the port where there is a 'check-in' area of sorts, similar to if you check in to a hotel. We were offered a drink of juice while we waited, which was great because by this time I was tired and wanting to go and sit down. It took around ...

Baltic Cruise

Advantages: food, trips, the ship,
Disadvantages: size of the stateroom, cost of excursions

I've just been on a Royal Caribbean cruise to the Baltic the ship was the Jewel Of the Seas, and have to say it was brilliant. The food onboard was great, if not too much because we found ourselves eating quite a bit each day! The waiter service was very good, the staff and waiters were friendly and helpful. The entertainment and shows were top quality, they had some one off acts on such as magicians, and musicians, singers. The Royal Caribbean production ...

A Room with a View!

Advantages: Great food and new places to see everyday.
Disadvantages: Hectic getting on and off the ship in port.

Ocean Village is part of the Carnival Cruise line, by the end of 2010 its ships will have moved to P&O Austaralia where the cruise market is expected to rise. The crusie tagets the 30-40 yeard old market and families. Ocean Village market themselves as the “Cruise for People who Don’t do Cruises”. Feeling that as a family we would feel restricted on a traditional cruise line we decided to take our first steps into the world of cruising using Ocean ...
...have another ship called Ocean Village two which is a bit newer but very similar in size. One week cruising in the Mediterranean was booked and the anticipation mounted. We booked flights with Ocean rather than booking independently for peace of mind. This proved very useful as our flight was delayed by several hours so the boat was kept in port until our plane arrived. If we had been independent it would have left. Arrival at the port was straightforward, ...
