Pride of Bilbao, very pleasing
Review of P & O by carrrotts

Advantages: Friendly staff, clean
Disadvantages: Tiny swimming pool

This ship was very good value for its price. First of all I'd like to say that some people expect this ship to have massive rooms and 100 different places to eat, but can I remind you that the pride of Bilbao is for mini-cruises, meaning that it won't have as much services!! I went with my sister and mother from Friday to Monday, with a booking with Gold Crest, which was excellent and Gold Crest provides the transport to Portsmouth, where the ship ...
...to be a friendly atmosphere, and got the card key for my cabin which was on deck 5, with a window. I had a little trouble getting in as I didn't put the card key in far enough- oops. But when I got in I was that little bit disappointed - the room was rather small, however if you think about it, the rooms in a mini-cruise ship like this won't have rooms as big as the bedrooms in your house, the cabin had two tables, a chair and an en-suite bathroom. ... Ocean Village Villa`s and Vino`s
Review of Ocean Village Cruise by dennis55

Advantages: Everything on board this cruise liner
Disadvantages: Nothing what so ever, unless you are a very fussy person.

...Villa`s and vino`s cruise with Ocean Village 2 and was very very impressed. First of all I must say after reading certain negative reviews, some people MUST be hard to please. They have criticised the food, which both my wife and I thought was wonderful, plentiful and a choice to please all, except a certain few who must be the most hard to please of people. In fact, some have criticised most the ship had to offer. If it`s fantastic food with a ...
...don't book an Ocean village tour, go to your Benidorms instead. Some folk just moan for moanings sake. This cruise was our first, it was our pearl wedding anniversary and we did not want any formal evenings with the Captain etc, we just wanted to wear casual all through the week, and that's what Ocean Village is about. We arrived just after one pm and waited until 3pm for our cabin allocation. We had cabin 10115 with a window, plenty of room and ... Read review

Scotland to Ireland ferry
Review of P&O Ferries by ScottishWestie

Advantages: Modern ship, fast crossing, comfortable seating
Disadvantages: Staff on car deck, high prices

...link there is served by P&O direct to Larne which is about 30 minutes driving time to Belfast, traffic permitting. This time I chose Troon in Western Scotland close to Ayr as it meant less driving time for me to get there & it went direct to Larne. It too is operated by P&O & for this trip they use a high speed ferry which has a journey time of around two hours. P&O's website quoted £245.00, a little steep I felt but after spending the good part ...
...real dirty looks when the P&O staff member waved me through! You drive another 500 yards to the ship & then make your way to the car deck. This particular high speed ferry (unlike most others) is very tight to manoeuvre on the car deck. Even with a modest sized car many people were having difficulty turning around each level. It didn't help when the staff members just stood & watched with their hands in their pockets whilst some people were reversing ... Read review

Mediterranean Renaissance on Thomson Destiny
Review of Thomson Travel - Mediterranean Cruise by 52876

Advantages: Fantastic facilities, great staff, ports of call
Disadvantages: Not the cheapest holiday you could go for

...this cruise. A week on Thomson Destiny is great. The only thing I would suggest is to go for two weeks instead! The final disembarktion was a bit of a mess, with cases being transported off the boat and some people having lost their passes but everything went smoothly in the end. I would definitely reccommend this cruise to anyone and everyone. ... Read review

Splendour of the Seas
Review of Royal Caribbean International by heidi2493

Advantages: Everything about it was brilliant
Disadvantages: Having to get off the ship to go to different ports lol

We went on Splendour of the Seas a few years ago for two weeks and well what can I say, I didn't want to come home!! It was such an excellent holiday, we travelled around the med visiting different places but I could have happily stayed on board for the two weeks!! I loved dressing up for dinner, having different menus each day, we had our own waiter called 'groba' who was really lovely and made each dinner special. On board there was a minature ...
...served by the pool, bars, lots of restaurants and the best part was the middle of the ship where there was the piano room/bar with a gold glass lift going up to each deck, marble staircases, library, photo gallery, blimey there was everything you could imagine on there. It was definatly my best holiday by far and would highly reccommend it to anyone! ... Read review
