Cheap and cheerful. How often do you hear that about a hotel?
In this case, it\'s probably a very apt description.
There are quite a few problems though:
1. The dining room is too small for the size of hotel. This is blatantly apparent if you are Half Board and go for your meal in the evening. They took to having 2 sittings while we were there in August of 2007. This didn\'t help! 2. The lifts (of which there are two) are small and slow. Now, you might be wondering why that should matter....read on.... 3. Food Choice - this is too limited. Now I am not the World\'s most avid experimenter when it comes to food that doesn\'t look appetising but I really struggled some nights to find food that I would fancy. The chicken curry was a sight to behold! I thought the black bits were just dark meat, nope it was the bones all mashed up! Not nice! The poolside bar is quite expensive compared to other bars in the areas (especially the Irish bar and bar next door). 4. Reception. Be prepared for a wait! I\'m sure that \'just a minute\' has a whole new meaning in Cyprus. Ok once you\'re used to it.
Now the Good Stuff:
1. Beach Front location - and I really do mean that! Tilt your head over the bannister at the foot of the swimming pool and you drop into the sea! There\'s not much of a beach per say, but just to the right as you look out to sea is a nice little sheltered inlet with some dark sand. 2. Food on your doorstep. This hotel is literally in the heart of Limassol. As you come out of the hotel you have a huge range of restaurants to the right. Reasonably priced and many have a 2/3 course special. 3. Bars - again, all around you. One good one is next door to the hotel, the Happy Days, ran by a local but with all English staff. 4. Ice Cream! Ok, probably not what most people go on holiday for I know! As you head out of the car park of the hotel, cross the (busy!) road and head to your left. There\'s a little cabin about 50yards up the road. Very cheap, surprisingly still frozen and delicious! 5. Cakes! Ok, I\'m sounding like a fat......so and so here! Opposite the hotel (across that road again!) is a great Bakers with lovely doughnuts, cakes, crisps, pizza slices and drinks. 6. Clean Rooms - now this is more like the sort of information you want! It says in the rooms that they are only cleaned twice a week. Well, I can honestly say that my room was tidied and had new towels EVERY day. The bathroom is fine, not great but not grubby or chatty either. The TV had the odd English channel but the movie channels had the odd English spoken movie from time to time also. 7. Balcony. These are angled so that virtually every room has a sea view. I wish you could see the photos we took from our bedroom. Especially nice in the early evening.
In summary: well worth the money and especially good for families. Recommended.
