Nice European City in Brazil

Advantages: Clean and modern
Disadvantages: None

I went to Curitiba to meet a friend of mine I had lived with in London. The South of Brazil, including Curitiba, is where most of the European settlers went at the beginning of the century. There are plenty of blonde people around. The City is quite large, but very well organized, clean with a nice atmosphere. The City itself can be visited for its parks and some museums. I spent most of the time with my friend, we visited a local Churrascaria, where ...
...a strong reputation for good meat, and I can only confirm this. From Curitiba we went by train to Paranagua. This trainline had been created at the end of 19th century and goes from the highs of Curitiba, down to the sea. Very much recommended for the scenery!

The little Europe!

Advantages: wonderful place to go
Disadvantages: none

Curitiba is at south of Brazil and there are lots of europeans living there, and that's probably why is everything in place. The meat there you can eat until you cannot see food anymore :-) Food is very cheap! Ask for costela de ripa God is something from the sky! Nice! The city is very european and therefore doesn't offer many places to go late of the night as like Rio where 24 hours a day you can go anywhere, but Jayme Lerner the governor had ...

Iguaçu

Advantages: Less touristy and tacky than Niagara
Disadvantages: Give it time and it will become touristy and tacky

Iguaçu (or Iguazú) waterfalls are some of the most impressive in the world, not the biggest, widest nor tallest waterfall, but 275 separate waterfalls spread over a three-kilometre crescent between Argentina and Brazil. Most of the falls are in Argentina, but the best views are from the Brazilian side. While on holiday in Brazil, after a wonderful few days in Rio de Janeiro and before heading into the Amazon Jungle I spent a few days at Iguaçu, staying at the wonderful Tropical Das Cataratas Hotel. Getting There We intended to fly from Rio to Curitiba, but the weather was too bad for a small plane, so we flew to São Paulo and caught a bigger plane from there to Curitiba, to catch the connecting flight to Iguaçu. Hotel Tropical Das Cataratas We stayed at the four-star Tropical Das Cataratas which is about ten miles from ...
