    Curium - also sometimes spelled Kurium or Kourion - is an ancient site not far from Limassol in Cyprus, technically in Akrotiri. It is set on a hill, and features the ruins of the house of a wealthy man, dating from around the year 5 CE with some reasonably well-preserved mosaics. Perhaps better known on the site is a well-restored stone amphitheatre which is likely to date from about 2 BC. Curium is open to the public in daylight hours for most of the year, although it’s occasionally closed for renovations or special occasions.
