Advantages: Small, plays DivX, XVid, firmware upgradable, multi-region capable Disadvantages: Very small, can't stack under TV or hi-fi
...The CyberHomeCH-DVD 401 is a combined DVD, DivX and XVid player.
The unit itself is tiny; just 25cm/10ins across- way too small to take the weight of a TV, but it perches quite happily on the top of a telly. The remote is also very small, but the buttons are well laid out with high contrast colours for the common playback functions, making it easy to use in low light. Outputs include standard SCART and left/right audio, plus SVideo, Composite Video, surround sound and coaxial audio connectors. There is no RF modulator, you will need a SCART socket at minimum, SCART cable is not included. All interaction takes place on the TV screen; there is no display on the unit itself (a larger, more expensive model the CH-DVD 462 has a display and will stack under a TV/HiFi etc).
For DVDs it just acts as a normal DVD player, and a very good one...

Advantages: Cheap, easy to use with clear instructions. Good user interface Disadvantages: None apparent so far. However it's quality may be reflected in the price.
Advantages: Cheap at the time, Easy to use, Well Written Manual, Quality Playback. Disadvantages: Poor quality system with fundamental flaws!
...I purchased a Cyberhome 1600 DVR from Asda approximately two and a half years ago. For its price of around £65, it has lasted a lot longer than I thought it would and is still going strong, despite the regular hammering of childrens DVD's it gets. :)
It is well styled, and compact so as not to be too over intrusive when placed under your T.V.
Playback of DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, Audio CD, Video CD, Super Video CD, CD-R & CD-RW with audio, MP3, JPEG, MPEG gives absolutely perfect picture quality and sound, comparable and as good as that of more superior and expensive systems.
The only flaw!! And quite a flaw, is the DVD Recording section. I struggled to record onto discs, with the DVR1600 failing to finalize, or finalizing but on playback flashing a "Disk Unknown" alert. Further investigation on the internet into the problems...

Being an experienced computer user who has previously done basic upgrades to my PC I was still a little worried about going wireless. I had security worries & the terminology is baffling. Do I go with wireless-g or wireless-n? If it's wireless, why did I more
